J Jennings Dismissed from UT

I gotta ask... and was going to blue font this, but I’m actually not being sarcastic.

Would this have happened if CBJ was still here? The public rant by Jennings?

JJ dismissed himself by not being on the sideline all season. You don’t abandon your teammates, period.
Come Sunday, Tennessee Football will move on, and likely be better off without an inept coaching staff and a loudmouth, no-show wide receiver...even a talented one.

Oh they have the problems, nobody cares because they win. At a point last year Saban signed a kid with felony warrants and had a LB that committed armed robbery on campus.

When is the last time you saw a kid go on social media and call Saban a lyier?Respect is what it boils down to and strong leadership which we are in bad need of.

He should have been suspended indefinitely and let the new coach handle it. Anything else is a disaster what if the kid really was lied to

He should show some maturity, class, and a little self-control. Taking his concerns in that manner to social media is unacceptable.

Since you seem to be all about dismissing JJ, let's play a game here, what would happen if say our top players all decided to do the same thing tomorrow that JJ did tonight?

Say JG and JK and TC and TS and any other top player we have do this in support of JJ, you going to dismiss them as well?

So far the only time JJ has gotten in trouble is when he got caught with pot, since then not a peep about him getting into any trouble, no rumors, nothing, but apparently this is enough to dismiss him? Should just suspend him for the game and that be it.

Another black eye for this program from this POS staff

After this, the film careers of many of our top players will be shelved before production. They just saw what a bad review costs.

The 'superiors' are all a bunch of washed up bums headed out as soon as the season's done. There is no leadership, and hasn't been for a good while.

Sit the dude down, tell him to get off social media or else, and see what he does.

I just won’t waste energy defending Jennings’ stupidity. He dug his own grave more than once this year. And I’m assuming the video is why he was dismissed and not after.

Id rather watch a 6-6 football team of walk ons than to supports kids and a staff that think this type of conduct is okay.

Did he practice this week after doctors gave him the green light? Then at practice he didn't perform at game level and coaches said he would not play. So get pissed and packed up got on I40 drove west to Murfreesboro and left them team thinking there would be reprocussions. But, after IHC and AD talked they decided to cut him loose. Then he made the video....just saying.

So you have provided one possible scenario. Someone else makes up a scenario involving a circus elephant and a sorority house. A third person makes up a scenario involving three robbed banks.

Which is right?

Anyone know?

You’re ridiculous dude.. let it go he’s a kid hopefully he will learn from his words and mistakes that’s what happens in the real world..

They learn or they don’t. Lots of stories about when they don’t. As far as “let it go”, why are you in this thread? That’s not the subject.

I would agree but this decision should have still been the next coach's. Why do this as an interim with just one game left unless you are trying to show the player who's boss and get a little bit of retaliation in?

Because that’s totally what I said. These are kids, he made a video filled with profanity and blasted a terrible coaching staff. He could’ve handled it a bit better but dismissal is a touch much imo.

Lots of folks here would be shocked by some of the players we had in the 90’s. You have to have alpha males if you want to win.

So you have info that the video is the reason he was dismissed?

Strong discipline, among many other things, is needed on this team. There has been a total lack of leadership and lack of discipline reared its head several times this season. I hope the new staff installs more discipline as well as more toughness and identifies more assertive leadership this spring.

He reportedly obtained agreement from the AD before making the decision.
