J Jennings Dismissed from UT

We're reacting to what we know. Youre reacting to some preconceived fabrication of what horrible things you think JJ did behind closed doors.

Oh, no im not. I would dismiss him based on the video alone.

We also know he was arrested for MJ, which personally, i could care less about. Also, the timeline here should show that the video is a reaction to bring dismissed, but i dont know that for sure.

One things for sure, i would have a very difficult time siding with someone conducting themselves the way JJ did.

Freedom of Speech? With all due respect, if you have a job, go in there Monday morning and just sound off with profanity. See where that freedom of speech lands you.

I think your reasoning for being upset is a little misguided. It also looks like Jennings misjudged the position of the interim.

Hopefully, they give him another shot to redeem himself.

Would Currie let the new coach welcome JJ back?

His future isn't ruined. He can transfer (if medical redshirted) or perhaps even be reinstated. I have also raised children and kids need to learn boundaries and consequences. We do not know the entire story, so there may have been other issues leading to the dismissal.

That’s right - a teaching moment! The crime had better fit the punishment. I can think of much worse things that would indeed demand dismissal (Think theft from your university... Gators).

Maybe Currie should meet with Jennings before allowing Joke, I mean Hoke, to kick him off the team. But since Currie is in the Bahamas guess that would be hard to do. It's not like he has anything important on his plate, like finding a coach, that should keep him from some fun in the sun.

There’s nothing to discuss with a video like that hanging out there. Think it all you want but you can’t air that on social media and expect no repercussions. Hopefully this will be a good life lesson for JJ.

Butchna you just hit the nail on the head. BEHAVIOR. We ALL feel what JJ said but you can’t go on the internet and rant like that. That action, that BEHAVIOR is unacceptable.

The guy is 21... His future is in the hands of these coaches.. Would you not be equally as pissed? An apology and some bleachers work once a new coach is hired will be enough IMO. The clown show needs to pile into their volkswagon and peddle off to the next show somewhere else.

Good luck finding anyone with fire in the belly to play for us.

Raise your hand if you know what Jauan did in the hours and days PRIOR to making that video.

...

...

...

Fact is, we don't know why he was dismissed from the team.

Since we don't know why he was dismissed, how can any of us second-guess the decision?

Anyone?

Brady Hoke is a joke . He shouldn't have the power to do this as a fill in coach. What a joke !!!

We see guys who commit violent crimes not get kicked off teams, and you think a video is a big deal?

Sorry, Ape. It is a big deal. Can’t show up your superiors in a video for the world to see. Allowing this behavior just gives a free pass for any player to act in any manner they see fit.

But I would be happier to see some other form of punishment in a selfish way.

Social media is going to be the downfall of us all.

Jennings is a great player and an absolute dog. He plays with heart and emotion. He makes a video and he is gone. Common maaaan. This is terrible.

Let the new coaching staff handle this. What a complete waste of a season. Can it get any worse???

Yeah, go tell JJ that conducting himself that way is ok. Im sure it will really help him in life.

Nobody is condoning the kid, he’s a kid, kids do stupid things.. some learn some don’t.. he expressed his feelings on things.. let this play out.. new coach will hopefully give him another shot..

Saban tolerates his starting tackle drinking and driving while Meyer tolerates his TE commiting murder. So they probably would.

Now have them drinking, driving and DOGCUSSING Saban and his staff and see if we can identify his body. And Aaron Hernandez murdered after he was in the pros. And if he had posted a video calling Urban a b**** a** his would have been off the team.

Today's society is all about coddling this newer generation.. giving them a participation trophy.

JJ deserves to be on the team. He feels the way most of the players Do.. I will be there Saturday supporting the boys. But I wouldn't be surprised if Hoke has an unfriendly welcome by several fans.

And some of today’s youth are snowflakes and cry when they get yelled at by a coach or don’t get what they want.

Regardless of how good the player is, who is coaching, what the situation is, or the state of your program you do not act like that publically especially when we are about to rebuild a program yet again.

You really see this as a freedom of speech issue? You are aware that only applies to the governnent taking you to jail right? Noone is saying he didn't have the right to say it, but there are consequences. Hopefully he learns that its not acceptable. But judging by all the adults taking up for it, im not sure he will.

Since you seem to be all about dismissing JJ, let's play a game here, what would happen if say our top players all decided to do the same thing tomorrow that JJ did tonight?

Say JG and JK and TC and TS and any other top player we have do this in support of JJ, you going to dismiss them as well?

So far the only time JJ has gotten in trouble is when he got caught with pot, since then not a peep about him getting into any trouble, no rumors, nothing, but apparently this is enough to dismiss him? Should just suspend him for the game and that be it.

Another black eye for this program from this POS staff

Competent coaches don't have these problems because they have the respect of their players.Lying, playing favorites, bone headed decisions that the players see through doesn't garner respect.

Oh they have the problems, nobody cares because they win. At a point last year Saban signed a kid with felony warrants and had a LB that committed armed robbery on campus.
