J Jennings Dismissed from UT

Everyone in this country has the right to freedom of speech.

Not necessarily I agree with how he did it but he simply gave his honest opinion on how he felt about UT’s current HC situation. Imagine playing for Butch who’s more than likely not kept promises or coached his players up to their potential level? Would you be frustrated too?

If you want to punish the kid, that’s totally understandable but to dismiss him after putting his heart & soul into this team over being frustrated, that’s where it’s ridiculous.

I mostly agree with your posts butchna but I disagree agree with your thinking.

There’s SPEECH and then there’s a freaking calling out video! There’s a way to express your discontent without appearing to be an entitled lunatic. ME ME ME! Get ME a new coaching staff! We are dummy! But it’s not for YOU! He did this to himself. Go hold his hand if your heart hurts.

So let me get this straight. Our Defensive line coach, who hasn't even been part of the team for 1 year and whose unit has played horrible most of the season, was named interim coach last week and just kicked our best wide receiver off the team For stating the obvious ?

If I were JJ, I would distance myself as far away from Tennessee as possible. He shouldn't come back here regardless of who the coach is next year. I hope JJ finds another team and lights it up. Wish him nothing but the best.

He probably will. We are probably going to hire from a low end big 5 school or from the American athletic conference

You want a coach that would base his decision to coach here off one player that might be here two years?

Only two more years???, yet he's been dismissed by a goofball coach who's been here 8 months, and will be here only about FOUR more days.

So shove that "only two more years crap".

Today's society is all about coddling this newer generation.. giving them a participation trophy.

JJ deserves to be on the team. He feels the way most of the players Do.. I will be there Saturday supporting the boys. But I wouldn't be surprised if Hoke has an unfriendly welcome by several fans.

I love the whole "freedom of speech" excuse used today. Freedom of speech is guaranteed, but freedom from the consequence of your speech is not protected.

You never know what's going on behind the scenes.

Be careful siding with anyone. There's three sides to every story.

What JJ says, what coaches say, and the truth

Kindly, stfu. He did nothing wrong. If someone did you wrong, you SHOULD call them out. He's not a pansy.

This isnt the first time JJ has been in trouble. We also dont know what happened behind the scenes. I know one thing, when i need to pick a side, i will choose the side that doesnt conduct themselves like JJ did, 100% of the time.

Oh, you mean as opposed to the way Butch Jones conducted himself publicly for five years? These kids have a right to speak out when their best interests aren't in the coaching staffs' thought process.

As one poster noted above, when a player is injured they often times are not a huge part of the team activities. They rehab almost daily and never travel with the team. Some coaches do not treat them very well either. I've seen this first hand and it's garbage.

What people are mad about is that we are flat screwed on offense next year.

We have 5 viable WRs for next season. We have no WR commits. And that’s assuming no one gets injured. We are flat screwed. (This doesn’t even include the OL situation)

No big deal. Even though it’s been a bad year, I’m confident the Vols will have at least 1 coach and 11 players to finish off the season on Saturday! Carry on!

After raising two young men, I can tell you that 20 year olds are emotional and not always wise on how to display their frustrations. I hope and pray there were other circumstances we are not aware of. If not, an interim coach -on an admittedly poor coaching staff, possibly ruined a young man’s future.
