The year was my 18th Indy 500 and this years race was probably my least favorite as far as the actual racing goes. The end of the race was very anti-climatic. I did get to take my 77 year old Dad for the first time and both my sons went. This was my oldest son's second race and my youngest son's first race.

Awesome. Maybe you have been, but if not, go to Road America. Set up a canopy on the fence line somewhere, grill out, get a golf cart and enjoy non-stop on track action all weekend. Like going to a park and a race breaks out.
My wife, who is not that interested in racing, actually LOVES going to RA. The noise doesn't bother the dogs either.
