IYO, Will Simms Make It Through The Entire Year?

You are right I did hear about him going to the late practice, and he deserves my respect for that. I heard on an article, that he quit his reps early during the day. If I can find it again, I will post it. Did anyone else read the same thing?

Yes, he said he took a few plays off mentally. Said it was the heat, but that it is no excuse and that he has to push through.

I have no problem with that.

I think Matt will a good solid QB, and could be better than alot of people expect. He has the ability to be a great QB in the SEC, it's the talent surrounding him that will be the problem. And no before i get bashed, im not talking about the receiving core. I mean the O-Line, we have one of the most inexperienced O-Lines in the nation. If Matt can overcome adversity, he can be a productive QB in this league. He has the heart, skill, and leadership qualities, it's the adversity surrounding him that will be the problem.

Spot on. I'm with you on this.

"giving up early" and taking a play of mentally are 2 different things though

I can't believe you guys want the kid who throws the football with the velocity of a shuttlecock to play the entire year.

are you serious? one of his strengths is his velocity, ability to "spin the ball" and his accuracy. get facts straight.

I think Bray should play as much if not more than Johnny Come Lately.

With Simms, we have three examples of on-the-field experience:

Louisville, JUCO, and the O&W game. In EVERY case, he has performed poorly, and in one case especially he acted poorly.

We only have one with Bray:

The O&W game.

I'll admit the O&W game may not be a good indicator, but that is all I have to go on with Bray. He made some incredible passes regardless of the defense he was up against.

I am not saying Simms is the worst QB in the world, but I have no evidence to say he will be successful. The only evidence I have from him points the other way.

where are you getting the nuggets you keep putting out there?

Interceptions: Orange and White Game, JUCO Stats
Poor Decisions: Orange and White Game, JUCO Stats
Bad Attitude: Ask any UofL Fan

Hopefully, these things have changed. I will support him if he is the QB. What I said was, he runs the "greater risk" in these areas over Bray IMO.

I'm still looking for the article.

You have no evidence to prove that Bray will be any better this season either.. However, we do have evidence that Simms comes in with more experience and has more ability to move in the pocket. If you don't think those two will be important this season than you are delusional.

You keep saying the same thing, and you have nothing to back up your claim that Bray is significantly better. You even admit now that your ONLY evidence isn't a good measuring stick after we told you in the other thread.

Great point, I guess we will have to wait and see. I respect your opinion, and I don't think you are "delusional." Simply put, based on the evidence I have, and based on what I have seen in person, I feel more comfortable with Bray. Maybe I am wrong, but I have at least given evidence to support my feelings about Simms. Bray may be the next Manning, or he may be the next Cooter. Outside of the O&W game he hasn't shown his colors yet. Simms on the other hand has shown his colors over the past three years, and they are not good.

I would feel more comfortable with Bray if I didn't think our starting QB would be throwing on the run a lot this season. Bray will be better in the long run for sure, but Simms will be a better game manager right now.

I think he'll make it through the year uninjured.....I don't think he will last the year as the starter

If Simms were going to be a great NCAA quarterback, I can't help but ask why has he not done it by now? Why was he a poor quarterback at two institutions? Logic tells me he is just not that good. We don't know about Bray yet.

YES! Just because I think we will have a shot at becoming bowl eligible and he may still be our best option.

How can you call 59% completion percentage and 12 picks in ten games "accurate"? I bleed orange like the rest people Jucos don't do well in the S.e.c. Plain and simple. Unless chaney and whoever the Qb coach is are Jesus Simms is not going to get done. By Nov Bray will be starting....

I think with our WRs Simms honestly has a shot to make some big plays downfield. JMO

I dont look for Simms to go all Tom Brady on Florida for the game winning touch down. His life support will be Poole and Stocker. Run heavy and limit Simms to as few of passes possible.

Teams will know this. He'll have to make plays, or our offense doesn't exist.
