Place has always been terrible. Right up there with buccees. Terrible food and experience all the way around but someone did a great job marketing it. Looks like that changed for CB.

CB will be the next restaurant chain in bankruptcy. The food used to be good, but they changed (cheapened) the food and now they're using woke gimmick virtue signaling to try attracting customers but the CEO in her liberal bubble can't understand that liberals are not her customers and company politics are not their problem. Hey Miss CEO, YOU ARE A RESTAURANT AND YOUR PROBLEM IS THE FOOD.

It's a restaurant. If the food is good they will have customers, despite the CEOs feelings on gay people and paint choices. Currently the food sucks.
Agreed. I’ve always felt it was bland and boring (taste wise). I saw a video of an inside of one that was just super empty. I’ve always assumed most marketing strategies have.. well strategies lol. Idk what the end goal and market target demographic here is.

What exactly is the “woke gimmick” here?

The real problem for CB is their core demographic (Boomers) is dying off. People under 60 aren’t interested in the “old timey” gimmick. There are a lot of places to get breakfast food.

I am not a Boomer and a lot of people I know are NOT but still love Cracker Barrell. I am not sure the logo change is the problem, it comes off as a desperate attempt for attention versus politics. However, the Food and Service has had a notable declined and caused a lot of people to stop going.

The old timey gimmick is timeless, btw. Boomer's were once young and they still went while the Greatest Generation was the core audience. I am seeing tons of posts from people under 40 calling this a dumb move.

Clearly not enough sub 60s are making it a go-to.

Yes food quality is an issue for every chain restaurant. Same fate that befalls old staples like Red Lobster and Ruby Tursdays.

Personally I’m in my upper 40s. None of my friends or similar aged family ever mention going there. Not a place we ever say “Hey let’s meet up at Cracker Barrel.” …Our parents do.

Personally I still liked the blueberry pancakes whenever we would join the elders there. Not enough to take a trip there myself. New logo has zero affect on that.

There is a woke gimmick here. Just because you choose to not see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. The current CEO has taken a very vocal stance on politics in the past. Not my business but that generally doesn’t go well. People want to eat, they don’t care how you vote.

There are definitely members of that boomer crowd that won’t play the game CB is playing and stay away. When I think CB I think vacation. They always put these places on interstates and draw the travel crowd. I’d bet that’s just as much if their business as boomers. People like voting with their wallets in the extremely polarized days we live in.

IMO CB is and always has been awful food but marketed it well enough to draw a crowd. Now they’re failing at that.

It used to be an elite breakfast spot. Nowadays you can get better just about anywhere. Ihop, waffle house, even Perkins I would take over CB.

Cracker Barrell has been trash for the last 5 years and the prices continue to go up. I don't give a damn one way or the other about the logo. Just serve decent food or drop the price
