I've legitimately lost interest in the sport in general over officiating, and not just because of the Vols. Every week I'm watching different teams get majorly hosed and it always benefits the top teams. I know games aren't fixed but when it feels that way it makes it hard to care. Some may just be sucky rules but it's not like they're going to change anything.

Seems like literally every game has some phantom holding call that results in a major momentum shift anymore.

And receptions and pass interference has gotten so subjective that I dont think anyone can truly define them anymore.

The New Orleans Game was when I started to lose interest as well. How can a video show a different outcome and it not be change. I think something as Blatant as The hold on Tilman shoule able to be called from the booth and or reviewed.. it does no good to have a review system if it is not used properly. regarding the TD the same applies

The review system in college seems set up as much to extend the game and set up more commercial time than actually reviewing plays.

The jaylen wright TD that was whistled dead was my biggest complaint officiating wise. Someone please correct me but the ball crossed the goal line before the whistle was blown correct?

You are correct and even the guys calling the game alluded to it clearly crossing before the whistle blew.

It got explained away by them saying the
linesman called forward progress stopped.

My question is this: if progress was stopped when the official thought it was then why the hell WASNT the whistle blowing???

It was a BS call.

I hear ya, just remember we ran into another bowl game airing after ours, so the call from the booth was to get the game over with so they would not use up anymore air time on the Music City Bowl....

Don’t kid yourself, anything can be bought

The officials know that by invoking forward progress there is no review. It doesn’t matter because the booth official was the most crocked of all. The Purdue bobbled TD, not correcting numerous short spots, and overturning the catch… pathetic

Not fixed but they got what they wanted from Tennessee fans ( a packed house). Time to help send Purdue home with a warm feeling too!

Officiating has gotten much worse across both the NCAA and NFL….. many calls missed in spite of replay. It’s ridiculous

I get what you're saying but they did switch the Pitt-MIST game to ESPN News or U ( forget which one) so they got to double dip for a few minutes.

But here’s the thing, one has to wonder if (putting my tin foil hat on here but…) these games are kind of a little fixed because the NCAA and conferences in general benefit from having top programs for consistent viewership and revenue.
