IUPUI Transfer: Ian Chiles (UT commit 5/13/14)

Hate to be a negavol, but this guy sucks. If all you do is score and you shoot 42% in mid-major conferences, the SEC will not be a good place for you. He's only 6' 1" and he's not a PG. More turnovers than assists.

Good luck to the guy, but I hope he doesn't see the floor.

I know you dropped it but I would think of his role at his past school more like AI's role - I am not saying they are the same caliber - but they are small quick guards who were asked to do a lot of scoring and penetrating - that will lead to high turnover rates and low field goal % - go back and look at AI's first year at Gtown

now CDT is selling him on a little different role here and we don't know if he can really do that - but you shouldnt discount his ability based on field goal % and turnover rate due to what his role was on that team

AI had his best success when he had teams that dominated defensively and on the glass. Iverson's style of play doesn't work with many lineups (examples: Nuggets, Team USA), which is why Iverson rarely had success.

His style of play was fine but when he joined the nuggets his body was breaking down on him. He was nowhere near the player he was earlier in his career. As for the All-star team, it failed bc most of the NBA stars refused to play in the game.

Iverson's body was not breaking down on him in Denver. He was considered a star that made them a contender when he went there. He played in 82 games his only full season with Denver. Then they traded him to Detroit cause he wasn't working out.

All-star team? You mean Team USA? They lost because he (37%) and Marbury (42%) (a similar player in style) took by far the most shots. A Team USA that shoots 46% is very beatable*. Team USA shouldn't be beatable. They got bronze.

*2012 shot 52%
2008 shot 55%

Yeah I know what Iverson was considered when he went to Denver. He was still a good player but nowhere near the player he was earlier in his career. Kind of like Wade now( not comparing the two players styles) wade is still good but can no longer be the lead player on a championship caliber team. When u have Marbury as one of your top two scorers on a USA team them u know it is a rough yr...most of the players refused to go to the Olympics that yr and only came back when coach k took over....I am a huge Iverson fan and I really believe he was allowed on that team bc so many others turned them down.

Wade right now is better than Iverson ever was, IMO. Also, I would say Shaq was the best player on Wade's first title team.

I don't care who said no to Team USA, we should be able to win gold with 0 of our top 25 players. That's how much better we are than the rest of the world. It's a monumental task for guard play to drag team USA down that badly. Wade and Jefferson were no good, but everyone else who played significant minutes played well.

I pull for the Dallas Mavericks and though I'm no fan of him personally,Wade almost singlehandedly denied them that championship (with a little ref help :) )...That was Shaq's last reasonably productive year...but he had already eaten away his star status.
