Derek Dooley is gone.
Let's let the negativity and absurdity die with his departure. For some of our fans to get on twitter, or a blog, or a message board and bash a 17-18 year old kid for making a decision that affects the rest of his life is crazy and embarrassing. How do you not see by doing that you 1. Embarrass yourself 2. Show NO class what so ever 3. Bring more negativity to OUR program and fanbase.
I wanted Vonn Bell and the rest of our prospective athletes as much as anyone else trust me. And yes I'm mad as hell that we didn't get ALL of them. However, to go on twitter, or to sit on here and attack or say something to the effect of, "I will not wish this kid well and hope he never has success" simply b/c your feelings are hurt is about as immature and classless as it gets.
WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT. PERIOD. That crap needs to end now. Whether you choose to believe it or not, kids do talk about things like that to one another. I'm not sitting here saying a kid will choose to go to school b/c some crazy fan said this or that. I'm saying why bring more negativity to the program we all love and are passionate about?!? It makes no sense.
Let's get behind CBJ and become a positive selling point for he and his staff to use for the next 20 years instead of reliving the Dooley era of negativity and despair.
I can't wait to see what CBJ and company have to say tomorrow morning in Memphis. Proud of our staff for the effort they put in and what they were able to accomplish in such a short period of time.

P.S. I'll also add that the Skeeters, BigAL, MZTerry of Volnation are what make this site work... There was NO WAY to predict what Vonn Bell was going to do today. NO WAY. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. People offer what they believe to be true, so don't run them off or get all pissed off simply b/c a kid changed his mind or they gave information based off of what they were told by someone who is close to the situation. Things change. It happens that's just life. Some people on this site and in our fanbase I pray learn this or can see how their actions affect our program in a negative way and will stop.
