It's Time To Get A Real Coach

My sentiments, exactly. There is no need to start 57 threads. Just put all your Holly hate here. I hope the moderator will merge them.

Well, the problem is there are 56 more Holly haters who will eventually start their own thread so they can feel special. IMO, the mods have their work cut out for them.

STFU You only post when they lose. Holly ran good offense if you watch, the players did not make shots or rebound.

Isn't that the reason for every loss in the history of basketball where the players did not make enough shots or points to win...too funny.

33% for the game with a lot of wide open mid range jumpers and shots at the rim.

It is hard to win with those kind of offensive numbers.

She's gonna have another year regardless, the fact that she has the number one overall recruiting class is enough to keep most of the boosters content for another year imo.

Yes, she will have another year, at least, because even without Diamond/Mercedes, she should have the top team in the conference and a deep run in the tournament. If not, I think it is time to look elsewhere for a coach. Six years is plenty of time to get her type players in her system and get a game plan for the future.

On another note, to bad Catchings is not interested in coaching, even as an assistant. She could really help this team.
Her comments during the game yesterday were very spot on-"....a point guard who just passes and doesn't shoot is a liability to their team. Mercedes needs to learn how to use her body to her advantage" were just a few. Why can't our staff see that?

We lack a leader on the floor and off the floor. If you have a chance go back and watch the end of the first half, Russell has just missed two easy put backs and is heading to the locker room, Holly pats her on the back and starts laughing with her. Your team has just played one of the most uninspired half of basketball ever and you are laughing about it. I don't expect her to scream and yell, but do you think Pat would have been laughing at halftime of that game? Geno? Muffett? Any concerned coach? She may think this is her style or how she relates to the kids, but to me it shows a lack of concern, seriousness, and leadership of the game. How can she be surprised that the kids don't take games seriously? As has been stated on this board multiple times, teams take on the personality of the coach. We need a coach who can guide and lead this team back to greatness, not one that wants to be the players' friend.

Why, pray tell? She would have THIS LV team playing light years ahead of their current snail's pace.

What is hilarious is the idea that Tennessee would make an offer to her that she wouldn't refuse. Truly hilarious.

Here's a blind coach comparison (Through Year 5).

Coach A has won 74% of their games and 75% of their conference games. Has not been to Final 4 although prior coach went there. Had top 5 recruiting class. Team noticeably slipped by Year 5. Program went from national program to afterthought.

Coach B has won 75% of their games and 78% of their conference games. Has not been to Final 4 although prior coach went there. Had top 5 recruiting class. Team noticeably slipped by Year 5. Program went from national program to afterthought.

Coach A is Holly Warlick
Coach B is Josh Pastner

I know there are obvious differences but there's a similar trajectory.

My choice from the gate was and still is Nikki Caldwell.

well I was hoping ut would hire her instead of holly. still wish they had, although she hasn't set the world on fire at LSU. especially for the money she is being paid. she will probably get fired as soon as they can afford to pay her off. you never know who can do the job until after they've been there for a while. but we do know what chw can do. I mean can't do.

Hire Curry! 3 straight losses to a team that should never even challenge Tennessee! Anyone would be better than the crap we have now! this is beyond sad! This team was NOT ready to play today! That's on the head coaches shoulders! You sunshine pumpers should run and hide somewhere because this coach will never get it done!

Is anyone else really, really, really tired of seeing exclamation points at the end of every sentence? You can really tell if someone's old and/or a Trump supporter by just looking at how they post.

Hey OP, this is unrelated but it goes for you and all your cronies; lay off the f***ing exclamation points. Just bc our president feigns outrage (in order to stir you up) in his tweets, doesn't mean you have to emulate his idiotic style. Jesus tapdancing Christ, I can understand being eaten up by propaganda and doublespeak, but LITERAL copying of style? That's just too much. rant over

Would it be possible to move Holly into a Director of Basketball Operations type of position? Or if no position exists, could one be created? While she does seem to be over her head as a power 5 head coach, it would be disrespectful to just dump her after all the years of service she has provided to the university.

I'm at the tournament. What LV fans are left (and diehard ones at that), are ALL saying time for a change. These are season ticket holders who have hung in there. We are all discussing this. They also are so disappointed that with all the traveling support the girls didn't give it there all.

No. She would be a lead weight dragging down the team.
