It's the injuries, stupid!

But yet good enough to drop 38 unanswered on the swamp donkey

HAHA I just said FL is not very good either? But TN was good enough to need a forward fumble to beat Appy St in OT... Typical UT fan, every team you beat is better than people realize and if you lose it is something other than they are better than you... I still remember after the Appy St game people were talking like Appy St was a top 10 team in the country

I had no argument... He asked a question on UF injuries and I answered the question and simply implied that he was setting up his question with another injury excuse for TN... I am not saying Fl has more injuries than TN just that both have a lot and Fl found a way to win the game they needed to win. Fournette is way too good of a player to say him not as a full go helped, but I would also say holding LSU to 10 points with the every level of the D hurt and 2 levels completely gutted is pretty impressive. Once again I am not under the impression Fl is very good, just think TN is not very good as well even when at full strength.

No UF doesnt have a lot of injuries. They have a few. Especially when compared to Tennessee. You beat an LSU team that didnt have their best RB healthy.

We havent been full strength at any point this season. Again, you fail.

Isn't it funny how Florida was said to "back" into the SECCG but you guys getting into the Sugar Bowl based off having a schedule that finishes easy is looked at as a statement of having a good year....
So our schedule is tough at the front and yours tougher at the rear while you pad your record early! Hey, buddy, it's a wash. Enjoy losing your last two and dropping out of the top 25 just like A&M. We'll see you in the rear view mirror!

Here is my take on this. The Gators have 13 starters out for the FL State game. If the Gators win I never want to hear "It's all the injuries".

Our D should not be this bad against the run.

Yeah I looked at their injury report. It's totally different than ours. I'll try to explain. We have entire position groups hurt right now. Kelly, Berry, JRM, Sapp, Kirkland (still not 100%) McKenzie, Tuttle, (O'Brien left) for example. There are more injuries than that. We are having to play DE's at DT. Sporadic injuries across a team is normal and can be overcome with depth. Ours is not normal, obviously. Huge difference between our situation and others.

What if they win but have 30 points run up on them?

the Vols don't have the quality depth as the Gators

and that is still a lot less than 20 players at one time

Hold on...the gators are down ONE DE (Jordan Sherit) on the line (I'm looking at the 2 deep listed for the FSU game vs the season opener)...we are down FOUR DTs

How about letting them keep the other DE (Keivonnis Davis) but they lose their next 3 on the depth chart...CeCe Jefferson, Jabari Zuniga, and Bryan Cox...I recognize the Jefferson plays both DT and DE, but I'm just reading off their depth chart...so now they will need to start their 6th DE and will be using their 7th and 8th DEs in the rotation...or maybe play a DT at DE and watch how well he handles the read option...

Playing DT at Tennessee this year has been like playing drums for Spinal Tap...

I believe a lot of posters here don't seem to grasp how deep the injuries on this team ran to their depth chart or how important some of the players were that were lost. Only reason I can think of for some of the really stupid conclusions they are reaching about CBJ and the team. Either that or they're just miserable trolls.

Doesn't seem like trying to explain it to them does a lick of good.

How many were injured during the Ohio game?

Appy State?

Count, it's like with politics. You can point out the obvious but people are still going to continue to spout what they think. Injuries are not the problem some think it is. Otherwise, we would have piled up points when we had no injuries. One question that some aren't asking is, why do we have so many injuries? It has to be something other than the players themselves.

I think injuries are the biggest problem for our D...not a big issue with the offense...we have 1 of our top 5 DTs left and at one point only had 1 of our top 5 LBs...not having Sutton hurt but not as bad as not having DTs and LBs...Kirkland isn't full strength but at least he's back and were only missing one starting LB (JRM) and one backup (Sapp)...
