I keep seeing this "No good coaches will come" narrative. If that's true, its because the people in charge arent closers!
These coaches seek money and power. They want to to be paid, have huge budgets, and freedom to run their program as they see fit. Yes, if we are offering essentially the same package as Florida and A&M, coaches are probably walking away. But does anyone really believe that if we offered Mullen for example 2.5 million more a year than Florida that he would have gone to Florida? Or Jimbo Fisher. You think if we made Jimbo the 2nd highest paid coach behind Saban he would say,"No thanks, I've been on Volnation and I'll pass on the job" Look at our recent history. We try to find diamonds in the rough rather than pitching, closing, and paying the top guys.
Stop blaming the fans for our Administration. They know a 4 million dollar a year, 8 win coach will fill Neyland, so they don't seriously pursue anything more.
