Umm... We haven't beat the Dawgs since 2016... with the Dobbs hail Mary.

What makes you think we'll win this year. They have more talent, for sure FWIW.

8-4 is probable IMO. 9-3 a really good season. Lost our starting QB, most our Online, our best Dline guys and WRs. It just smells like a rebuilding year I'm afraid.

The Vols have only lost 1 game at home over the last few years...to UGA. It's time to break the streak. They did it to Alabama in 2022. This team will do it to Georgia. Believe Monty...believe

If FL QB is injured, perhaps. But by then, he will probably be fine if the backup isn't worthwhile. It's interesting that I have felt this many seasons only to be absolutely surprised, but we have too many unknowns for me to believe we WILL go 10-2. 9-3 is a stretch for me when we have ? at QB, OL, WR and no proven talent at RB. Add to that the loss of so many DLs.

Having Boo back is HUGE. NO MORE BOO HOO. WE NOW HAVE BOO WHO.

But that hasn't been the trend. Heupel's teams have reliably won or at least competed in the big rivalry games except Georgia. At the same time, we always have a WTF game where we lose to one team that we have no business losing to. If Heupel can find a way to eliminate those mulligan games every season we would be in position to host playoff games and play in SEC championship games

Ask me to bet my house on it, 8-4/9-3…. We don’t have elite QB nor a deep big time Oline.
All the optimism in the world can’t hide those two facts.
9-3 is a good year in this league when not at elite strength- and we aren’t there yet. Next year will be a different story as we continue to build talent. Hopefully 8-4/9-3 is good enough to keep the bitch birds at bay. Worse thing that can happen to an up and coming monster program- which is EXACTLY what we are - is a bunch of negative fans saying stupid **** which can be twisted by opposing coaches into “you don’t wanna play at UT- they are gonna fire those coaches.”

In both prior years under Heupel where we’ve hosted Georgia and played at Bama and Florida we’re 0-3. I expect the same this season.

We’re also 1-14 in those games the last ten years.

As an older fan that has endured many hardships, I am happy with 9-3 if we beat one of GA, FL, or UA. CJH has averaged over ten wins in the last three seasons.CJH is building good teams and bringing in better talent. I'll take it, given the recent pass. The Vols are relevant again and winning ten games a year in the new competitive environment (transfer portal, NIL, expanded playoffs, etc) means a natty is possible in any year.

I'm not relying on hope Monty. I believe the Vols will win that game. That's why I said it. I also believe the Vols will split the two games with Alabama and Florida.

Let's talk again after the game.

People chalking the Georgia game up as a loss are ridiculous. This is our best chance to beat them, and it’s at home. The past few years at home we’ve been a pretty hard team to beat. That’s the game that swings the season for us. I see us beating UGA at home this year and going 10-2 to get into the playoffs again.
