And you dont seem like a clueless doucher with Daddy issues. Why is coming here throwing out insults seem like a good idea?

You're right! Gruden is coming guys...so sorry to bring reality to you. I don't care how mad you get about it, but if you think I'm clueless? You're still holding out hope for Gruden because you didn't get an "official text" lol :good!:

I think he means a text or other communication with credible named sources rather than the vague "someone close to the UT search process".

Not holding out hope, I think Gruden isn't coming atm, but what I think has nothing to do with any of it. It isn't official until UT says something.

Top story on ESPN NCAA Football page:

Jon Gruden not focus of Tennessee Volunteers' search for coach, sources say - ESPN

"Coach Gruden has let us know that he's not interested, and we're pursuing other candidates," a Tennessee official said.

So does that not count as 'UT saying something'? If not, I'm not sure what DOES count.

It's over fellas. I hate it, too. But it's time to move on from this.

Like it or not, within major CFB programs overall we've always been a middle of the pack program (8-4 W/L avg), aside from our great '98 season. I hate that it's become this way but the fact is others invest hundreds of millions of dollars into their football programs these days. UT hasn't. It's hurt us to the point that we're no longer even a "middle" team. For real change to take place UT MUST hire a big name coach.

you are correct to a point (8-4) but its not like we're the only ones. Keep in mind that before Spurrier got to UF they were no more than a homecoming team. LSU, for as strong as they've been recently, also has a good share of crappy years too. CFB runs in cycles and were at the bottom of one right now. I seriously doubt we're in funk like Vandy (who was once decently strong) or Ole Miss. We'll be back but it will take some time.
