You see how many top ranked teams lost?

Luck plays a huge role for every championship team. Remember Clint Stoener in 98? How about the Ole Miss/Arkansas game that got Alabama to Atlanta?

We got all the lucky bounces Thursday. I'll take this weekend as a good omen that we'll be the lucky team this season.

Just stop. How many predictions have to go wrong before you will learn?

I certainly hope and wish for a 15-0 season. But after watching Bama be Bama, I just dont see us beating them. I know we will be much better when we play but so will they and their defense looks even more nasty than last year.

A little luck will come in to play at some point this season

1998, we had 5 lucky things happen to us.
#1 The Miami vs UCLA game was re scheduled from Sept. until late November due to a Hurricane in Florida. THis gave UCLA enough time to improve as the season went along and closed the gap between them and Miami
#2 Clint S fumble
#3 Florida kicker missed kick
#4 We went almost all season with no major injuries. Al Wilson was HURT and the D. Tackle that caused the fumble against Arkansas were both HURT but neither missed any time. J. Lewis was the only INJURY that comes to mind for me.
#5 When Alabama scored and made the game a one score game, P Price immediately took the K.O. 100 yards for a score and took the air out of Alabama

How in the hell can you come here and talk about the Stoener stumble and fumble when you just became a fan last year?

these are 18-22 year old men they read how good they were to be in the press and believed it they came out Saturday and got hit with a haymaker they got knocked down but not out they fought back and won the game now they thinking wow we not as good as we thought so we better practice hard and get better. I believe you will see a lot better team at Bristol come Saturday night.

Ucla in 98 had a powerhouse offense and their D was horrible

Syracuse in 98 McNabb had a few breaks in the 4th quarter, their tight end had one hell of a catch with McNabb pressured , but Jeff Hall had final say. From Syracuse which was a crap shoot, to Florida next game that was a defensive battle, but yet McNabb torched us, but we got the W

Also, I like that we had no major injuries that year, EXCEPT Jamal Lewis and Al Wilson was HURT.... :crazy:

I gotta premonition this year my Vols gonna ride , although it's kinda scary what bama did to usc last night , but we gonna get right and we going to bring to the fight , we needed what happend on that Thursday night , now we know we are not entitled , so .....
