It's on with James Franklin

No - I never said Franklin out coached Jones. They haven't coached against one another yet. We were out-coached in our most recent game with them.

Ah, gotcha. That's not relavent to me anymore (would've been if Dooley was still here.)

I'm movin' on 2013.

(BTW, good to see you posting. Hope the team gives you reason to be happy this year.)

But Franklin out coaching Jones is based on the future?

Past says it will not happen....Franklin and Jones head to head......jones will not let them forget 2012 results nor will he fold at the end of the season..... Every year Dooley coached we went from Good/fair to God awful..... Dooley could not even make halftime adjustments......could not keep a fire lit...truth be known really could not start one except in recruiting season....he'll spring practices were dull and boring....no enthusiasm....

Every year was a downward spiral, slippery slope and a vicious cycle.....reset at recruiting cycle by wait until next year and a good class....this is the cycle CBJ has to break....he will....

If Jones and company can energize this fan base, win some games along the way and bring stability back to the program, Vanderbilt will go back to being what they've always been.....a fart in the wind.

I hope Vandy becomes a powerhouse....as long as we stay one or two steps above them.... I would much rather look at an Alabama for a measurement than Vandy, Ole Miss, or Auburn, Georgia .......

Technically Vandy has not earned it, yet......a lot is self generation....let them sustain it over a period of time....their true colors will come out.....

They're improving and will probably have a little more success down the road, but at the end of the day, they're still Vandy. Part of their hype is due to Tennessee being down. Things will get back to normal eventually.

Franklin will be gone soon. Vandy hasn't beat anybody as an underdog(except maybe ole miss) since he has been there. Are they more competitive, yes. Last season was impressive for vandy standards but they had a weak schedule and he beat who they were suppose to beat. The schedule isn't much tougher this year but Ole Miss will be better. There wins will be Austin Peay, UMASS, UAB, Missouri(Toss up), Kentucky, Wake Forest. I think UT bounces back and rolls them this year.

I'm honestly not sure which question you are answering no to.

Bray-Hunter and Da'Rick were just too much that day. As much as I defended Dooley, in the end I learned he couldn't out coach anyone.

I've always wondered about that one. I was in a wedding for the first half, and only got to catch the second half on TV. It seemed like maybe the Bearcats just ran out of gas.

I'd probably do the same if I were him. I think he's a smart guy who's done a phenomenal job at a private school in the SEC without an AD. If he were doing the same job at UT, many of you would be applauding his tactics.

Screw that little prick...it's time to put his ass under and take him down. Before I was all for ignoring them, it's time to make light of that pathetic little "football" program.

Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin pitched Ohio State to Vonn Bell | Eleven Warriors

I hope the Vols and CBJ hurt Vandy's feelings bad on the field this year. Hurt their players, run a sideline out into Franklin's knees, keep throwing deep routes when we're up by 21 in the 4th...Vandy needs to be put back in it's rightful place in the SEC East cellar.

Vols, Butch!!

Franklin will not be gone soon.....he is dedicated to this....and the Vanderbilt alum as arrogant as they are will throw the money at him.....he is pitching academics with football, in the best conference...attitude and new approach....which will always work for a select crowd of student athletes and parents......

He is locked in.....I would say for 4 years +.....Jones is a good counter to him because he brings more to the table with less flap, and has proven it already at two levels below....

Our focus and talk should not be on Franklin...ignore it and him....fans want the drama though....so there is no getting around....Franklin is getting into some Vols heads.....even sabans.....AL......karma will happen....patience is required....chasing rabbits down holes is not good.....

Serious question: did Dooley out-coach Jones when we played Cincinnati two years ago? Or did we just out-talent them?

I would say out talented. I don't think DD outcoached anyone last year. Even the games we won were not coached well.

Ha! Thanks Volley. I don't know why giving Franklin the proper respect for what he's accomplished at Vandy touches a nerve with so many people. As far as being happy, I actually posted in another thread that I like this class and that several of these recruits are real ballers. The rest of VN seems to be on the ledge with this class - are they all negavols?. I just think people are selective when it comes to calling me a doom and gloomer, etc.. They choose to ignore my positive posts because it doesn't fit the narrative.

Is anyone else indifferent about Vandy and Franklin? they're just our nerdy little brother having some good times and they've just hit their ceiling. I can't believe some of you get your jimmies rustled over friggin Vanderbilt.

probably because you're making up "facts" to give him that respect. He's done very little to earn anything in the SEC besides beat the bottom dwellers and terrible OOC teams

yes but the 1 negates your claim of "by every respectable recruiting service"

are you now saying your facts are wrong?

It is a fact that 2 services, whether you agree with those services' evaluations or not, had Vandy's class ranked ahead of ours. 1 did not. There is alot of subjectivity, but if 2 services say they did and one said they didn't, most reasonable people on the outside would say Vandy had a stronger class.

BTW - unlike most of this board, I actually like the kids CBJ brought in.
