I lived in Atlanta for 40 years and it has never close as t who is the worst. Georgia for the last 58 years is the worst.

I hate Georgia with the fire of 1,000 suns, but they just won the SEC championship and have what is widely regarded as the #1 recruiting class in the country. Now, call me crazy, but I can sort of understand the excitement.

Call it what you want, but it's pure jealousy. At least the excitement they're showing is based on something tangible.

They'll be folks on here picking Tennessee to win the SEC next season because Pruitt "has that fire in the belly". You'll complain that ESPiN and Herbstreit hate the Vols and don't even know what they are talking about. Couldn't name anyone on Tennessee's roster if you asked them. SEC Network hates the Vols. All those guys don't know anything about Tennessee. They're just going on what some biased Alabama, Florida or Georgia talking head thinks. Etc, etc, etc.

Meanwhile, they are SEC champs.....but, they act like.....(fill in the blank)

What he said...based on what UGA nearly accomplished this past season, coupled with their strong recruiting class, their fans’ excitement is more than warranted.

Seems like every 4-5 years or so UGA puts together a team worthy of national pub...2008, 2012, 2017....and each time they get closer to the ultimate prize.

I hate UGA as much as some of you here hate Florida, but until someone else with a pulse shows up in the East, it’s UGA’s house for now. UF and UT both have talent gaps, South Carolina has a trained monkey coaching their football team, and the rest of the East isn’t close to competing for the division.

I lived in Georgia for 21 years. I used to think that UGA fans were the absolute worst fans in the universe. They would support their team and coaches all the way up to the 1st loss. "Gonna win a NATTY!" turns directly to "Fire Mark Richt" when they lose 1 game. I would listen to their post game call in show after a loss just for ENTERTAINMENT. It was HILAROUS to hear people with such unreasonable expectations.

Yep, most unreasonable fans ever, i thought...

Then I moved back to Tennessee in 2013.

I live in Mid Ga so I concur on UGA having the worst fans. There is no way I can imagine trying to live in Athens. You guys have my sympathy.

Georgia is garbage that has won as many titles as Tennessee in the last 30+ years. Their trash talk is laughable.

Move to Georgia and you will understand. If you have never lived there, it could be difficult to believe, but once you have lived there, it will take only one football season to be convinced.

He had good defenses at FSU, Georgia, and Alabama. Do you think Alabama would have hired him if he wasn't very good? He recruited many of the Georgia defensive players who are now going to the NFL. Trolls will be trolls.

Well get used to it because Georgia is building something that we can only wish for. The SEC Champs just went into OT in the national title game my friend. Their last 2 recruiting classes are ridiculous and they already have two 5* verbals for the 2019 class. Meanwhile we got a kid throwing our hat across a room on NSD for all of CFB to see and a UT legacy 5* OL snubbing us for Kirby Smart. I do not see it getting better at all honestly. We are a pathetic joke thanks to the UT Administration. Pruitt was like the 10th coach we offered the job too!!!! As a long time UT fan I am just dying inside. WTH is going to take snaps for us in September????? WTH is going to block for the RB's we don't have???? Good Lord this is frustrating.

There is plenty of hate to go around. No need to worry yourself for hating one more than the other.

I don't have issue with either. Just like the gumps they are trying to achieve like the Vols. In their efforts to do so they have improved their programs, won championships and handed us some disturbing losses. They are just returning the favor. Florida cashed the check. The chumps, well they earned their name. Chokaholics, chumps, whatever.

Cash the check fellas. Then come with your trash. Last year was my 2nd son's 1st Ga game. He's 4. He was ready to leave at halftime. When it was time to leave Knoxville for home, he was sad. He though we had moved out on our own. It was fun while it lasted. He didn't even know we lost til the SC game. He gets so grumpy when we lose, I stop bringing it up. Let him have his fun. Don't ask don't tell work works for this.

I'm gonna try to make it down to Athens this year. I've only been there once and we lost. I might bring the boy. He is one of my good luck charms.

It's pretty funny, but you are right that some are more realistic than others. Our fan base would probably have roughly the same breakdown of personality types if we were playing for a national title. Then again, I can't see anyone from our fan base howling in others' faces.

If I didn't have plans to visit my folks that weekend I'd be at the game as well. They recently finished some upgrades to Stegman Coliseum, I think...maybe a new jumbotron or something. Anyhow, enjoy the game and GBO!

I'm a Georgia fan that likes this site because I appreciate what other fanbases' perspectives are. From what I've gathered on most other boards is UGA fans are the worst. It's hard to argue sometimes. I know some UT fans that are insufferable. I know some barn fans that are as well. Same with UF. I guess when you love your team everyone else is wrong and you're right.

I have actually seen it on other sites. We have had VN posters in the past that will go troll other teams sites and then post here. It's really quite pathetic. That said though, I have meet and been around enough GA fans outside of any forum to know that they are about the most delusional and rude fans on the planet.

Try visiting Athens wearing the opposing teams colors or Gainesville. It's most unpleasant. Then, come to Knoxville. Report what you find. OK fan posted a couple years ago that Knoxville was the most fun and enjoyable tailgate that he had ever been to at an away location. I'm not bragging on us but by and large, we don't tend to crow that much in public. The ones that do get what they deserve.
