It's Official: Checker Neyland set for OU Game

Let me just say that it is good to stand up for what you believe in and the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Apparently JR was incorrect, my rational appeal to higher powers was answered with a reasonable alternative.

What?

We're in white. Can't wait to make Neyland one of the most beautiful sites in college football!

Hope we put a whipping on them.

Direct quote from an OU fan on their board.

"Hurd is 3rd string at OU

He might be able to return kickoffs for us"

Lol. Some people.

Lol and OU's second string RB shouldn't even be on the team after reportedly punching a woman last year.

The Nashville game is a W in the books.

Now we move on to the best stadium in the entire world.

Neyland will be checkered, our fans will be extremely LOUD every single time the Sooners O goes to the line.

Our LOUD fans will make a difference in this most important game and, despite what any Sooners say, They will be happy to get out of Neyland without their ears bleeding.

Really LOUD fans do cause teams to Lose games and there are no better, Loyal, loud fans in the world than our Vol Nation fans, NONE!

My friends, again I must say...IT'S FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!!!

Br proud, be LOUD, be consistent with the noise and love the beauty of a Checkerboard Neyland because nothing is is more beautiful that seeing that.

This game against the Sooners will show the world our Tennessee footVol fans will RISE TO THE TOP!

Building a Champion #BrickbyBrick!

VFL...Go Big Orange!!!

Seeing as how Georgia will almost assuredly be the game where we wear the Smoky alternates, a blackout or layered dark grey to lighter greys would be awesome/ miserable to coordinate.

I just wanted to drop by for a friendly 'hello' before I leave Oklahoma City for Knoxville on Saturday morning. I'm really looking forward to seeing Neyland and taking in some of the traditions of one of football's most storied programs. I've heard I'll hear 'Rocky Top' until my ears bleed, but we somewhat do the same thing with 'Boomer Sooner,' so fair play. I think this year's game is going to be an exciting one -- we've transitioned into more of an air raid team with our new QB and OC, so it's a bit more fun to watch.

I'm really excited to see Neyland checkered. We do kind of the same thing with Gaylord Memorial in stripes, but the checkered pattern just looks so much cleaner.

Good luck to you all. Can't wait to meet some of you all. As a whole, you seem like a nice bunch of people.

Hey guys I'm new to posting on here but have been keeping up with this site and vols football for 17 years and I'm 25. I'll be making the trip from Lubbock Texas and is the first time I have been back since I was 10 and lived in Nashville. There will be three of us including one texas tech fan tagging along haha but was just wondering about a good tailgating experience or maybe even something with the vol navy I hear so much about.

Safe trip, BoomerSooner. Really hope you enjoy your visit, all except for 3 1/2 hours of it. :good!:

OKC to Knox is roughly 12 hours. I hope that you make it in time.

Otherwise, very classy post, and I hope you make it hear safely. Safe travels and good luck Saturday!

"It's great seeing all these people getting disappointed" I am saving this for the floriduh game. Anybody know Coach Butch's email address?

I have a feeling Coach McElwain and/or his gator players will have something to say that will trump a former coach's remarks after a lucky win

I had the privilege of being part of the checkering of Neyland last year. What an AWESOME experience it was to get there early and watch it evolve. Even with the outcome of the game, it's still one of my all-time best times at a UT game. (Capt. Morgan may have played a hand in that)

To those lucky enough to be going to the game Saturday, Y'all do us proud, be LOUD and GO BIG ORANGE!!!!

So you're saying McElwain or his players are more crude and crass that muschump? Regardless of who made the comment it would be a good talking point that the gators as a whole enjoy seeing Vol fans leaving the stadium disappointed and it's about time they returned the favor.

The checkerboard looks absolutely AWESOME on TV, great job all of you who are there!!! Couple of spots of crimson, but they're not large, and don't detract at all from the effect. You're doing great! :good!:
