Yep, he gets next year. But the improvement needed is almost to much to ask for. So what if MTSU gears up to stop the run, should that really matter? If we keep putting a product like this on the field, we can say good bye to any highly ranked recruits coming here. Right now he still has some leverage because of all the issues we have and his limited time to fix it (recruits may buy in). I think the best possible solution is for some coaching changes to be made, starting with the o-line coach. The way this team performs , he better do something.
he has alot to do with it. i feel after next year he is gone.
You may not be drinking any more Dool-aid but you're certainly smoking something if you think we should be any better than what we are given our youth, injuries, etc...
Yes, plenty of teams overachieve BUT that's because their expectations are low. Come down off cloud 9 because it's a rebuilding year.
I'll be back next Sat at the same time. If we see the same results (a lose) this time next week, VN will need to be shutdown. The only thing Dooley has had to hang his hat on so far is that he's beatin' the teams he was suppose to but if he loses to UV next week, were looking at Houston Nutt type of season next year. Aka mid season firing! Hart will be licking his chops to make his first big splash, guaranteed!
I agree with most of your points. But there's no way you should have/could have, beat UGA. CDD should be given time. But he's going to have a lot of trouble recruiting quality players given the fact that the state of TN doesn't produce quality. It's gonna get harder.
Well said 100% agree with what you said !!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-5 years? have you lost your mind ? with this coaching staff we would be way below Kentucky level lolAgree. Dooley may or may not be the guy, but only idiots would start thinking about firing him before he's even finished coaching his 2nd year of a team comprised of true freshmen and sophomores, with all their best players injured or dismissed. Needs 4-5 yrs from hire of a Major rebuild before the fire Dooley discussions are fair.
Firing Dooley won't get us a big splash of a coach. No coach wants to go somewhere where the university shows no patience.
When you start with a new coach you have to give them a minimum of 3 if not 4 years. Anything less and you're just adding one more item to the list of reasons that coaches may not want to come here right now.
This about injuries, depth and talent. The last 2 we don't have much of, rebuilding a program takes time. Of course its easier for schools like Bama and Florida to rebuild, the HS talent is far greater than in Tennessee. Many people forget we were at the top when teams like Bama, USCe, Georgia, LSU were just not very good. Now after Saban brought back both LSU and Bama, add in Richt and Spurrier, the SEC is a lot better league.
I'm not say Dooley is the answer but you have to play the hand you're dealt.
