First time poster, I've been following for 12 years been a fan for 32 years. My question is why is auburn having Moore sucess in recruiting then we our? I know they won a national championship but they also have new head Coach that was coaching high school football 6 years ago.

What about Collins ? Collins and Woulard would be perfect for Jones offense

A couple of reasons IMO, first the NC just a couple of years ago, their brand is stonger than ours right now. Second their recruiting base is stronger than ours, it's easier for them to recruit than it is for UT. Third, you gotta hand it to Malzahn, he went out and hired a bunch of top recruiters, like Garner and Craig. Jones will catch up with them and everyone else, but it'll take a year two

i read on another tennessee site where a memphis recruit was catching a train in memphis and going to knoxville to be pickied up by his brother. hell...there is no passenger train from memphis to knoxville. maybe they meant he would be a hobo and ride a boxcar..that would get him there in time for the spring practice. thats just another example of the fact that when it comes to what high school seniors are going to do very few peoiple outside of family really know.let the team win a few games with a competent staff and everything willl fall into place.its a wonder some of you guys dont have a stroke over this stuff.

Bellamy told MrSEC that UGA is the new number one, but Florida State is doing an in home visit before signing day. I guess Tennessee is out. Collins is not looking too good either with all his gushing about Arkansas. And Ford is getting offers right and left from UGA, Florida State, and Auburn. Sure would like to get some good news soon.

Also, I read today that Auburn has the fourth highest football-related revenue in CFB (I was surprised). That points to a very marketable brand.

I think Jones will ultimately sign at least four or five of these four and five star recruits: Ford, North, Morris, Lawson, Bellamy, Johnson, Levenberry, Cunningham, Bell, and Dobbs

Nope. We'll get left at the altar by most of them, if not all of them. I suspect we'll be the runner up on them, which ultimately means nothing for us. If we are extremely lucky, we might snag 1 or 2 of them, but it's been forever since Tennessee had any good luck, so I doubt it.

Considering we are sitting at only 18 I'm hoping there are 8 more spots filled between now and NSD. Supposedly we are able to sign 26 in this class. I honestly do not see that happening.

If we don't that's fine. I don't want to take guys just to fill the class. If its not a solid pick up then save it for next year.

I agree with this. However, it's unfortunate to leave some spots on the table considering our depth issues at certain positions. I believe we will add some really good talent before next week, but it wouldn't surprise me if we don't sign but 22 or 23.

Is that your gut (too many jalepenos in your enchilada's, eh?), or do you have some solid sources to back that up with? I've been hopeful, but after losing Green...I've come back down to reality level. CBJ and Co....have managed thus far to land a handful of 3*s. I don't feel too good about this class on the whole. Thank you Mike Hamilton, and Hart for not cutting the cord this time last year, after a coach who didn't even have the resume to be in charge of an SEC team, ran the program off the rails and had almost his entire staff abandon ship.

Could have gotten Sumlin or another solid coach, and by this point, we'd be ahead of the curve...instead of a few years behind it.

If we get to 23 with some solid guys and save a few for next year I would be ok with that.

Regardless as to what happened to get us where we are now, I believe we are headed in the right direction. CBJ and staff seem to be giving their all for Tennessee everyday! Recruiting is mostly about building relationships, today's events are yesterday's plans, so with that being said, I believe we will finish strong and the world better be on a lookout for us from here on out!

Well, we didn't, so this is where we are. It isn't NSD yet so we don't know what the outcome is gonna be this year. How about UT fans try to be positive and support the coaching staff until there is a REAL reason not to?? I know that's a foreign concept to many on UT message boards.
