It's like we are listening to the same crappy song on repeat

Nah, don't need any translations regarding gibberish. Answer the question, how do you know he will not be committed to Tennessee ? Do you have inside information ?

Pay attention...

I didn't say he wouldn't. Whomever you replied to may have, I dont remember.

But it is surprising to me that all the love the CPF gets here for being a true VFL that folks dont think CJP is an true BAMA boy. He grew up being a BAMA fan, played there, coaches there but now he is VFL because we paid him to come here?

I hope that CJP is wildly successful here at UT and maybe he will be. Getting our asses handed to us 3 out of his first 5 games doesnt give me much hope though. It also irks me that UT settled for another unproven coach to save a few bucks.

Do you think the only ones that were/are "irked" that UTAD seemed to settle...again are the ones constantly bishing about it?

Also, was offering Gundy 7 million dollars trying to "save a few bucks"?

I don't think I disagree with you 100%, but I'm not really sure because it seems you're just throwing chit to see what sticks.

Coaching search...AD promises the world. We hire an up and coming "rising star". It is beaten into us the new coach has a good pedigree or coached under a great coach. Great recruiter, players love him. He wants to be here and that's what is important.

Then the wins don't come, recruiting busts, player issues abound, and the dumpster fire reignites.

Then, we do it all over again.

Apply for the job, seems from what you say, you'd do a better job. If you succeed, I'll cheer my back end off for you. Get a surgical replacement and cheer that one off for you too. Send in your application today. But if you don't, post the same thing you did about yourself just to be fair.

7mil to Gundy was a move in the right direction but my guess is that there were other strings attached he didnnt care for that made staying at OKie State easier for him, esp. with a raise.

However Gundy is the only one I'm aware of that this tactic was taken (offering big bucks to an established proven coach). I'm fairly confident there is a quality proven coach out there that with the right money and freedom to run his program that would be happy in Knoxville.

The facilities of the program and the passion of the fanbase are plusses that not all programs can offer.

IMO having Fulmer as AD made it more difficult to get an established coach to come here though. Who wants an alum, player, former NC winning coach looking over their shoulder while trying to instill into. the program "their" way of winning? Not too many guys who have the ego needed to be a high caliber HC would be my guess. That's not to say I wish Fulmer werent in that position but it's just another spot where we have someone learning on the job and while it may pay dividends down the road IMO it hurts the program in the short term.

Hopefully Pruitt and staff become wildly successful but that is unlikely with the 4 most important positions ( AD, HC, DC and OC) being filled by rookies.

I hate working 3rd shift. Cant do.anything on.off days and cant sleep.either.
i worked 2nd/3rd shift from the time was 18 til i was about 30. i still have a bit of night owl in me, 15 years later.

from time to time, for special projects i have to revert back to it. i've never had a problem going back to that schedule.

coming off it, is a lot harder for me.

I dont mind it so much, but keeping a sleep schedule is hard. Once a month I have to go on 1st shift hours for 4 or 5 days. Then of course, family commitment, appointments etc are always during the day. Of course the wife doesnt understand why I cant sleep like a normal person on my off days. The only real problem with 3rd shift is that noone cares when you sleep.

you got that right. i dind't mind it really, when i was single. other than it really kills having a night life, which can suck for a single guy.

but on the other hand, i never had traffic issues, and i'd usually get up around 1 pm and i'd go play golf most every day, then go to work. used to freak my neighbors out when i'd be on the back deck grilling at 6 or 7 a.m. drinking a beer.

I don't think our fan base will give him as long as was given to Majors or Dabo Swinney
the fan base may not have a choice, given his current $11m buyout, and what we're still gonna be paying butch and co for the forseeible future.

and why do we have to talk about the end, right at the beginning?

Well then we're just going to have to listen to non-stop Jimmy Buffett for a while

We will hit a home run eventually, law of averages and all that stuff. Know what I mean volnation? We will know soon enough.

There is no such thing as global warming. Chuck Norris was cold one day and turned up the sun.

Johnny Majors won a title at Pitt
Still have my Dads bumper sticker..."Come back home Bill Battle, we made a Major mistake."

If he wasn't a UT guy, he never would have left Pitt. Ever!

er...at least not for UT.
But he is the only coach to ever be hired in Knoxville with any kind of resume (HC wise)

Another idiotic thread of this nature. Do people not realize the state the program was in - in every aspect?

I swear I have heard this song somewhere, can anyone help me out?

Was that before or after the hires of Kiffin, Dooley, and Lyle?

Thanks, I knew I had heard that song somewhere before.
