It's Les Miles

Um, he's hired. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Les sign MOU at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious

I hope Fulmer is indeed speaking with Miles, because I think Miles, could be an additional stabilizing factor for the stumbling Vols:popcorn:

Miles had at least 2 losses in 11 of his 12 years at LSU. A truly great coach doesn’t do that at LSU with the advantages they have.

1. We can't hire a current coach due to the buyout. We squandered too much money on Schiano's MOU and firing Currie.

2. Both Davenport and Fulmer said they wanted someone with head coaching experience in the SEC.

It's Miles (unless Cutcliffe is back in play), and Les totally sucks. Get ready to be right back here in three years.

Les can recruit. Get good assistant and Les will do fine. Look at how Mark has done in Miami. It's a fresh face and he will be hungry. I'm down for Les.

Maybe you should look at the previous coach at LSU before Miles was HC. Saban was there 5 years and he lost more than 2 games 4 out of 5 seasons; and Saban is a great coach.

His last 4 full seasons Miles lost at least 3. He was obviously getting worse, not better.

So if Les is hired, are we going to support him or just ***** about it before he even coaches a game?

I'm going to ***** about it because we're settling. Les is clearly on the decline, can't find or develop QBs, runs a boring offense, and hasn't been coaching for a year. The fact he didn't get a job last year and hasn't sniffed one again until now should be red flags for all of us and yet we're talking to him. We could have had Leach and his exciting offense but we're going to settle for Miles' 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense.

Miles is an awful game day coach. LSU got progressively worse during his tenure, especially after Saban's players left. The man is a functional idiot.

Thought u were describing our previous hc who was also a Michigan Yankee,, Miles-Jones, Jones-Miles

They're not much different. Les was smart enough to hire good assistants.

Fulmer contacting Miles, on top of Miles putting the word out that he wants the job, sure makes it sound like we'll be getting Miles. It may be a significant consideration that Fulmer may see him as a safe choice, for PR reasons, after the fiasco of events that started with Currie's hiring.

I see a lot of folks wanting to put together their dream staff for Miles, especially to include Tee.

I'm old school. I think if you hire a head coach, you put him in charge, and don't tell him who he has to hire. It's important, no matter who they hire as head coach, to let him pick his staff, because he's the one in charge, and the one who has to work with them. And don't hamstring him on budget.

If you don't let him pick his staff, you don't trust him. And if you don't trust him, don't hire him.

Agree with what Wrangler writes above,, seems somewhat of a lazy hire as well,, if CFP cannot appoint himself as HC then he'll appoint a close facsimile,,an aging former offensive lineman who was fired by his old team after winning a NC and slumped in the years afterwards

He has the second most wins all time at LSU, and better win percentage than the coach that has the most. He also has a better win percentage than Nick Saban at LSU.

Your argument is absurd.

Les Miles is the best coach LSU has ever had.

Why were they in such a hurry to fire him?
