It's Les Miles

Les is by far the best coach who seems to actively be seeking the job. He gets us back on track toward relevance the second he is hired.
I'd rather have a pile of crap for a coach. We could place our coach on the field and an opposing defensive player might slip and fall on the pile of crap, allowing us to score a touchdown.

I suspect Haslam fired Currie because he was trying to spend too much on a coach after he already blew about 5 million on Schiano's MOA, which changed the level of coach we could pursue. It's funny that people think UT can fire Currie for cause simply because he disobeyed a booster. These people are living in a dream world.

The same gullible people are celebrating Phildo saving the program. This Foolmer was the one touting Doeren from N.C. State.

Make no mistake. The Haslams are still in charge at UT. The slimes hand-picked the president, the chancellor, and the athletic director. Currie was only a puppet and took the fall for his bosses.

Man Haslem didn't fire chit and there is not money for Schiano or Currie. Fulmer is Anderson's guy and new young money is taking over.

Miles has made some mistakes in his career and I bet he's learned from them. But I will never forget that 2011 Bama game at Bryant-Denny where they came out on top in that 9-6 game. Very few people would have had the stomach to win a game like that.

i will happily take les miles.........only reason why lsu fired him was because he couldn't beat saban. Only two coaches that i can think of have been able to beat him more than once, gus m. And hugh freeze.

Miles is a proven winner with championships under his belt. I would take him in two seconds.

yep!

There have been some real *******s come out of the woodwork over the past month. You're making a slow but steady climb to the top of the pile.

Pretty sure his rise is approaching meteoric. I think somebody found daddy's account.

Hope not. Guy got fired for not winning with Louisiana talent. Right now we are lacking in talent and this recruiting class is a bust.

Except he did win with Louisiana talent. Not counting his shortened 2016 when he was fired, he didn't even have 1 season with fewer than 8 wins and only 2 seasons with fewer than 9 wins. He had 10 wins or more in over half the seasons he was there. Oh yeah, 2 Natties as well.

Seems like all he did was win.

Why does everyone think Tee would move laterally for an OC position? Leave a ranked team for a total dumpster fire?

He might be willing to do some sort of coach in waiting deal under Cutcliffe. I don't think he would coach under an LSU clown.

1. We cant hire a current coach. We squandered too much money on Currie's buyout and Schiano.

2. Davenport said she wanted someone who had coached in the SEC before as did Fulmer.

It's Miles, and he totally sucks. Get ready to be right back here in three years.

If by sucking, you mean a winning percentage approaching .750; 3 SEC West Division Titles, 2 SEC titles, 2 national title game appearance, a national championship, and 11 consecutive seasons of winning at least 8 games during his 11 year (and 4 games of a 12th season) tenure, then yes he sucks! By this standard I suppose Nick Saban is only an average coach since he has managed to win only 4 national championships in 11 seasons at Alabama. Geez!!!

Miles is one of the greatest to ever walk the SEC sidelines. We need to jump on him and fast. He's a great recruiter and would have the Vols back winning SEC and national titles in no time. The only clown here is peytonmanningwoo. Miles has forgotten more football that this poser will ever learn in a lifetime. :)

Bring in Les and Tee as OC (HC in waiting), get a strong DC. Could be a good recipe for wearing the East out and finally taking down Bama.

The Mad Hatter on our sidelines.

He was fired for not winning championships (couldn't beat Alabama - oh, the horror!)... For the record, Miles won 10 games or more in 7 of his 11 full seasons at LSU with his worst record being 8-5. This was in the toughest division of the toughest conference.

He went 114-34 at LSU, last 5+ years he went 52-17. Guess he can’t win. Leach is 38-37 in 6 years in a conference that plays no defense. In 16 years as a head coach he has won 10 games 1 time (Texas Tech). in 13 years at LSU Miles won 10 games 7 Times.

In the context of our current situation Les Miles is a no brainer. At this moment he would be a home run hire. He is a good coach and above average recruiter.

2 Natties? Don’t think so...check your facts...1 Natty with Sabans team.

He wanted the Purdue job but they chose Brohm who is a far superior coach. FACT!!

Lot of short memories in here. Les was going to get fired the year before but Jimbo backed out.

During his time at LSU he won more games than any other SEC program during that same time. He didn’t have Saban’s players for a decade. Does he have shortcomings? Yes. But give credit where credit is due.

His National Championship was in 2007 which was his 3rd season. Calling that Saban's team is ridiculous. Calling Brohm a superior coach as a fact is even more ridiculous (at least so far). That would be called an opinion - not likely to be shared by very many.
