I will happily take Les Miles.........only reason why LSU fired him was because he couldn't beat Saban. Only two coaches that I can think of have been able to beat him more than once, Gus M. and Hugh Freeze.

Miles is a proven winner with Championships under his belt. I would take him in two seconds.

What makes him suck?? Was his last couple years that great? no, but overall the guy can coach. Sometimes coaches just need a change or some time off to sit back and figure things out. I think Les will do just fine here.

He averaged 10 wins a year over his entire time between OSU and LSU. Heck, I think his last 3 years at LSU he averaged 9 wins.

What killed LSU was their QB play. The only other knock you can have on Miles was his inability to get a quality QB the last 5 years.

He was also 9-3 if I recall against the EAST. It would take a year or two to get UT's talent up, but the would be a homerun in my book.

UT can't be as picky with a coach right now. Les Miles knows this conference, is a great recruiter, would open more doors in Louisiana, and is a likeable person with no baggage. Considering where we are at right now that doesn't seem too terrible.

Yes, he was fired because he wasn't winning with Louisiana talent, but he also has a 114-34 W/L record there. So the guy still won... a lot.

With all the chaos going on right now, someone who knows the SEC landscape and knows what he is getting himself into is probably a good thing. Is he the only candidate, no, but he definitely deserves a look

Exactly! Les is 64 yrs old has coached a hell of a lot of sec football and has been ther done that and made mistakes that he has no doubt learned from. Bring in great coordinators and direct traffic...keep it simple.
