No one would say we are where we should be in any phase of the game (although ST is close). But BYU only scored 16 points in regulation. So Defense was fine in regulation. And we ran the ball well. It's just the passing game and it is not the scheme nor the receivers. Our receivers are experienced and good, and Chaney is one of the best play callers there is. That just leaves QB and Oline - and the OLine seemed to be OK yesterday. What (who ) Does that leave? We have to try someone else.

Anyone : Is there any Offensive player with more in-game "experience" than JG (minutes-wise)?

Nope.

Run game stats looked great and BYU D-Line was no joke but we still haven't established the run between the tackles or picking up short yardage yet.

Most the SEC will set the edge and contain us with better linebackers than what BYU brought to the table.

I'm not saying it's bad but we've still got allot of work to do.

Aside from the last-minute bomb, the D played fine yesterday. We ran the ball fairly well. The kicking game was on.

Thanks only to a lucky bounce and JJ being an Alpha Dog, we did manage a couple of passing TDs. Outside of those moments, JG just doesn't look like he sees the field. He repeatedly misses open receivers, throws to bad spots, throws late, and gives up on plays by checking down short.

I'm with you. Roll out one of the young guys next week.

I agree with this posting except...game 1. If they figure out something at qb and keep improving in other positions we may win a couple games

What about all the times the D wasn't really. Several times they looked (were) lost! I've seen middle schoolers play better defense! The OL is young and will improve. The QB now that is another story. The one person I feel bad for is T Martin hopefully he can help turn things around!

That is the whole problem...we are one dimensional and after last nights game SEC teams have it on tape and will scheme to defend it by bringing everyone in the box...checkmate

Coaches have to quit hoping for another Auburn type game...one good game a years is not enough.....

Speaking of JG and offense, BYU was only 3rd time that JG has started and we scored more than 24 points vs FBS teams.

In those 3 games, we are 1-2

Nice stat. You'd think he'd have rung up some points just by playing against prevent defenses when we are behind. Guess not.

Each game we play makes it easier for opponents to defend. Nothing really changes much on offense due to our one consistent factor on offense, QB deficiencies.

Seriously? Completely blowing coverage with under 20 seconds left while up 3 with BYU around their own 20 is fine? That should never happen ever!

BYU’s QB blew some wide open WRs yesterday from poor coverage. With that said...JG is the best defense for the opposing team.
