Butch jones must ride JG to success to keep his job. Jones O scheme produces when working. It's clear our offense is not working. To keep his job, he needs to win all but 2 games. There is only one way that happens.

If you want to bash Scott, just stop reading. This is Jones' offense failing on the field. The same Jones offense that gave us numbers we haven't seen since the 90's, these recent seasons. You can scream Dobbs all you want, but if we'd had Deshaun Watson in that system. Jones most likely has an East title.

He did get JG though. The offense is not working, just like it wasn't working with Worley. Love the guy, but he wasn't the man for the job. Butch just gives too many sh!ts. I love that he cares so much about his players, but there comes a time where you have to look at your scheme and how it matches with your talent. With JG we all know that the offense will be completely different.

He needs to make his offense completely different, if he wants to go 8-4. Let's be reasonable. As pissed as we all are, Currie doesn't give sh!ts. He's not going to fire a coach for going 8-4 in a rebuilding season. With JG he has a chance of running his offense correctly.

If he gets JG going defenses will have a much harder time defending our young receivers. even if JG throws as many INTs as QD, the running game will still be more productive. I'm not defending Jones. I'm simply stating that I think he can save his job, and how he could go about it.

If JG doesn't get every single first team rep in practice the next 2 weeks I will be at a loss of words.

I'd like to agree,I only hope his lack of leadership and seemingly confusion of the offense has just come from fear of messing up. Jones just needs to give him the keys and not take them back

Butch is gone, short of the biggest turn-around in UT history. This offense is worse than the Clawfense and we know how that turned out.

When QD was pulled at end of 3rd / start of the 4th quarter, it was the end of the road for him. His confidence cannot recover to lead this team again. Even with an injury to JG they will need to play McBride. Now the team not only has bad coaching, they have a torn team. Actually has looked this way for the whole season. Maybe a new coach will give everyone the chance for a new start.

Its a good offense when run well. We’ve seen that. We all know it requires a mobile qb. The Clawfense did very well elsewhere at Richmond and that Other school.

I hope Butch turns it around...but, its got to be Gaurantano.

Neither of the choices are athletic enough to effectively run this offense against a good defense. Doesn't matter which one plays, they will struggle to have any success.

Remember at Tennessee we called it he Crawlfense.

There is no saving Jones' job, he is done.

Sadly I don't think that's true. If he wins every game except Bama from here, he is still 9-3. I doubt he gets fired with that record. Either that, or beat Bama. After tonight I highly doubt either of those two things will happen. But, it's possible. I think he is one more bad loss away at least.

The way we looked today (and last week), it's hard to believe Butch hasn't lost the team. Worst home loss in 112 years! Bad coaching - yes. Inadequate QB play - absolutely. But, it has to be more than that. The team looks lost right now.

Rebuilding from what? 9-4?

This fan base needs a serious recalibration on what UT football should be.

Offensively, yes. Defensive was impressive today. Creating opportunities for an offense that squandered it all day.

The torn offense? That's from Jones not being decisive. I believe the entire offense would be better with either qb had he named a starter weeks in advance to solidify their role as leader.
