It's happening [Dark Mode]

If wearing alternate uniforms would move us closer to a national championship I would be all for it! Jones started wearing smokey grey in 13. Did we win a NC? There's no proof it helps achieve that goal. Yes Oregon is a good program. Are they a better program than Alabama, Clemson etc?
You won’t really know if it did until after the fact. Been wearing these same uni’s since 98.

Jones was buttcheeks though. We all know this :p If you look at how we've played in Heupel's first year vs Jones and Pruitt he's taking what he has and made things work. I don't think many people would argue it's a matter of execution at this point. On a side note, I'm thinking Clemson is looking pretty sketchy now that they don't have a 2 yr NFL rdy QB like they have in the past. XD I'm still waitinf for ole Deebo to hang it up since his "If they get paid I'll quit" quote.

So uniform has no effect? 🤔 IF they did switch up, do you think any of their old guard would raise a ruckus like ours?

Yes. In 2009 or 10 they wore nike pro combat uniforms. Even tho they looked dang near the exact same, their fans actually did raise a "ruckus" and they haven't did anything similar since. Bama fans respect tradition and the history of the program. Its something UT and bama shared and made the third Saturday feel so historic bc we weren't like the other 98% of schools who bend over backwards with gimmicks to stay relevant. With the history of the sec, that meant alot to Ut and bama fans. It was special. They went through a god awful stretch in the 90s through the mid 2000s. They never did any of the corny stuff we've done to try to be relevant again. Thats one of the many reasons the programs have went in opposite directions and the mystique of Tennessee football has disappeared.

Alabama wears the same uniforms. Do they win? Or are you suggesting they would recruit better and have better teams if they went to cartoon uniforms?
If Alabama program ever falls to the level which TN is at and currently rebuilding they may look at alternate uniforms to help increase recruiting
It's not just the blacked out uniforms but the coach staff has these young men excited, ready to play, putting points on the board. You can tell this team demeanor is way different than last years.

I will get excited if we put the fear in them (whether we win or not). I would love to beat KY or Ole Miss (or any program with a winning record). I expect to beat bad teams so I guess I will let you have my excitement when we beat Vandy!
South Carolina actually has a winning record. They are 3-2. Just saying!!!!

I don't understand the disdain towards alternating colors. It's a color. Why do you care so much? I feel like some people think it's bad juju because it "breaks tradition". ok. You also have to realize that the last time we were nationally relevant, these kids weren't born. Their parent's were probably kids, like me. Times change. If it helps us recruit better/makes us even a little more relevant in order to get us back to being a national championship team then why not? It's a color!!!! Oregon does just fine.

A post well stated, VolBall.
You tried, gave it your all,
I see you tried your very best.
For some folks common sense doesn't exist.
That's the way it is, always been, that's all.

Not all of us take on the arduous task of counting posts and imposing summary judgement on the comedy level. The Greatest Generation always would take on seemingly unnecessary tasks. “Take my wife…please!” That made your ear hair twitch…admit it. 😉

Under your name it literally says your post amount. All it takes is my eyes moving slightly left and like magic its just there. Acting like im digging through files to find your post count is funny. Notice when you're not trying to be funny you're light years funnier than the clever messages with the big words. Less is more with you. Which is crazy to say after 88 THOUSAND post.

I think you misinterpret the purpose of these uniforms. And the effect…negative or positive. Saban won his first Bama championship in 2009. Wearing those uniforms didn’t derail it? You think it’s corny and I don’t. Bout the extent of the science. Our uniform scheme isn’t changing. Just every now and then they’ll throw something different out. It won’t affect a single thing on the field.

We've been wearing orange and white a helluva lot longer than '98! Any variation of our colors (orange and white) would be fine. I liked that Kiffin brought out the black uniforms for HALLOWEEN. To completely change a color is not a variation though. What's next? We've had smokey grey, black. Should we try lime green and orange?

If you keep saying 88 THOUSAND in a mantra you’ll ultimately be wrong…as your own post count increases. Continue fake psychology. It’s catching on. 😴

If it's already posted, Freak, kill this post. Otherwise, here's a look at the Vols concept of going dark. Love the black stripe on the helmet.

No lime green would destroy our playcalling. 98 was when we last won a NC…that was the clear point. Why haven’t we repeated? And what wild color is being unfurled Saturday?

It wont affect anything on the field correct. You asked if they'd raise a "ruckus". I explained the one time they halfway tried it, there was indeed a huge ruckus. I also would be willing to bet if Alabama checkered the stadium and got beat 41-0, That would be the end of that little charade. Its just 2 programs who used to be the exact same but now one has kept its end of the bargain and the other decided to be the opposite of that.

Good God, thats because the uniform fad didnt really hit until the last 10 years. Not anywhere near the same thing. If you do not like it, don't watch. It is simple, the game is also not about you personally. They really don't give two flying fuks if you like it Grandpa. They just want your coin. Personally it isn't my favorite. But I dont give a damn if they wear trash bags if their beaten someone's ass. I came through the 80's and 90's nothing is the same. If they wanna do an alternate every year, I am cool with it. Stop being old and outdated

Old and outdated like Alabama or who?

“Charade”. 😅 Since Bama is very unlikely to get shut out 41-0, your theory will be left untested. Do you have any links to that “ruckus”? Doesn’t sound familiar.

Well I just blacked out my avatar and will be switching to it game day....
Hope some of yall don't complain about it:cool:

If they ever try to be like us 41-0 will be there before you know it. It doesnt take long to happen. Im sure I could find something if ruckus links actually exist. Ive sent 167 messages in 2 years to your 88 THOUSAND in 8 so I trust your work ethic much more than mine. lol

Look, I'm fine with them doing what they have to do with respect to the uniforms and helmets, particularly with how supply chains are right now, but forgive me a moment while I mourn what might have been.

I think you keep missing the clear point. Changing uniform colors will not bring a NC. While some like yourself may be entertained at the theatrics, I would prefer focusing on bringing the best recruits in and coaching them up to a level to compete for a NC. And yes this can be done wearing orange and white!
