It's happening [Dark Mode]

Do you have kids that are currently or recently being recruited? I do, and them and all their friends love the alternate uniforms. It's not the ultimate factor in recruiting, but it is another tool at your disposal. Hell, we own UT hoodies in black, orange, white, gray, navy, and camo. The one thing they have in common is that they all have the Power T on them. And.... we feel the exact same representing it as a fan in every one of them.
I've got different color UT stuff from sweatshirts to t-shirts to golf apparel.

Black Helmets would have been nice. I Like the White Helmets as well. But i would really like to have seen an Orange Helmet with Black face mask and Black T

Oooh, teasing!

Hope it’s for Ole Miss—I just ordered a black hoodie for that game. My only game to attend this year, and the first I’ve been to in 5 years. Plus, my 4-year old son is going his first-ever game.

I am stoked!

Shoo buddy! With a 730 start you might wanna bring the pack n play.

…I’ll need a place to nap after tailgating starts at 10!

How are you connected to the program if you don't mind my asking?

Just a long time season ticket holder. No connection to the program. You know the days where we just sold out neyland routinely, wore historic uniforms, out recruited the sec and were a respectable program. The last decade has been a nightmare and our geniuses running the program have decided "hell lets double down on gimmicks and being corny" while we get smoked in recruiting year in and year out while at the same time expecting to catch the big boys in this league. Then losing our minds when it doesnt magically happen. Hope that almost answers the question.

The real question is do these become part of a normal rotation of current uniforms?
Hope so! Lot of our traditions STARTED with Doug Dickey. Resident Neyland blue hairs almost burnt down the county a smoke signaling. “What’s this ‘Runnin through the T” flimflam? And WTF is that T doing on the side of the helmet?” 🤬

I dont miss Doug dickey and those teams at all. Even tho he was a really good AD. Credit where its due.

Yeah, like why are them coaches taking off the numbers and putting that big ugly T on the sides of the helmet? 🤪

You use the word "we" alot. You haven't earned that. My parents have been season ticket holders since the 60's. You aren't anything special

Just an observation: We don't want black cleats with the everything else orange and white, and now everything else is black but don't want white helmets.

Yeah its weird to go from white helmets to alternate white helmets too. The irony is there for sure to your point lol

College football is different now...enjoy the ride or get out the VCR and just watch the classics. Im not too concerned with long time season ticket holders(I am one) negative thoughts on these black unis, but look at the reaction of the players(past and present) on twitter!! Its getting the right attention.

And because I've seen several critics of the helmet I'll just post what I found

Ehh. Yeah I remember those days. They were great. Yet times are changing. I think there’s room for both.

Real Tennessee fans will never accept mediocre and were not even to that level. Embracing the same stuff thats ruined our program and doubling down on it is stupid. Thats why Alabama operates the exact opposite of us. I couldn't care less about earning anything from a message board employee LOL. My parents were season ticket holders as well, but I would feel extremely corny using that as a point of being superior. "my mommy and daddy are better fans than you" is a pretty lame comeback. Like a real cringeworthy response

For people that weren't around for that and haven't experienced that I understand why they think striving for a bowl game is the new normal. It'll never be for real Ut fans. There no room for anything thats happened in the last decade. Unacceptable doesnt begin to describe it. Neyland stadium should never be an automatic win for anybody. For that to change, everything about the program has to change. Doubling down is literal insanity.

I don’t mind these one bit
I just don’t see why you would do it for a noon kickoff and not wait and do it next week vs Ole Miss at night

Your first sentence has absolutely nothing at all to do with the topic of this thread.
