"It's great to be a TN Vol" chant

I hope that the chant NOT dying out in your lifetime does not ruin your off season.:hi:

No, Im too excited about UT's future for that to ruin my off season. But, considering UT is on the upswing, it would be awesome for a UT specific chant to catch on with our fans.

I just got one, hit me from the blue.....

We..... gone whip they ass
boom shocka locka boom shocka locka
we....gone whip they ass
boom shocka locka boom boom

If my memory serves, weren't florida fans chanting "Its great to be a florida gator" when they managed to defeat us this year? That could be what ultimately soured me to it.

Lighten up, Francis. The more we win, the better it sounds.

I've always hated the cheer too.. Sounds like a bunch of third graders on the short bus.. My personal Favorite is the song that Fulmer & Co. would sing after a win, and I sang while living in Tuscaloosa for college, all the time...
I don't give a damn about the whole" insert state of or school of"
the whole "state of or school of"
the whole "state of or school of"
I don't give a damn about the whole" insert state of or school of" because we're from Teeeennnneeeesseeeeee!!!!

You say Go Vols, I say Go Big Orange... Either way... #### Bama!

I would argue that the more we win, the more using a chant that everyone else uses is lazy.

I like my idea of "Its BEST to be a TN Vol" more than keeping the "its great to be [anyone]". UT is better than that. We play Rocky Top so we are clearly not afraid of standing out.

Sounds like you spent a lot of time on the short bus

Your personal fave didn't get sung enough, short bus. Especially when Cut wasn't in town.

That is a cool story. It would have been better if you said "this is how WE do it" then followed up by starting a chant that only VOLS do. Instead of "this is how we do it" but its a chant that everyone else also does. Hell, Iowa fans have probably chanted it themselves.[/QUOTE]

By the end of the game, I'm sure there were Iowa fans chanting "It's great to be a Tennessee Vol!"

Had probably put on Orange shirts too.

Watching all those other fan bases chanting it really drives the point home. If someone came up with something unique, catchy and truly "Tennessee" then I would bet it could catch on quickly. I can't seem to come up with anything good.
At least you're honest.:ermm:

We gone whip they ass is a Volnation classic line.

Yeah, but im pretty sure no other fan base will know that if UT fans chanted it. We need something that will be known as undoubtedly Tennessee by all opposing fans who hear it.

Can you imagine the outrage from some on here if fans actually chanted that? It would make the FU Florida chant seem like nothing.

Wait. ONLY UT fans can chant about it being great 2 b a TN Vol.

You get that, right?

That's a variation on this response-
It's unique, no other school chants, 'It's Great to Be a Tennessee Vol'.

I knew that response was coming but didn't expect it to be mentioned twice.

Come on, you get that many other fans bases chanting the same thing except replacing "TN VOL" with their team is basically the same chant. UT is better than that.

When virtually any team can chant "Its great to be a [insert team]" just as frequently as mighty UT, its time for a change.

At least you're honest.:ermm:

I did start this thing without a suitable alternative. I was hoping some guys here could come up with something good but most seem to have no problem with UT fans chanting the same thing many other fan bases do. I cant shake the feeling that its not befitting of UT's greatness.
