We are 3-1 going into October!
We have a potent offense that can really do some damage. And a defense that seems to be finally getting settled into this 3-4 scheme. It's safe to say that the team was still down last week after that Florida loss, but that's behind us now. It's Georgia week! If we win this game we will be back in the top 25 and in the SEC East race! It's sickening how negative this board is, one loss and you throw in the towel on this season? Remember last year? We were so depleted due to injuries that we lost games that should have been wins, and this year we have talent on both sides of the ball and can pull quite afew upsets along the way yet still I see the same negative trash? Get up, quit crying, and support your Vols. If you don't like adversity then go hop on the Bama bandwagon! We lost to a Top 10 team and we are the ONLY loss on NCState's schedule! We have 2 of the best receivers in the nation! A hungry defense! And we aren't Kentucky! It's Truly Great To Be A Tennessee Vol! Upset in Athens coming the 29th!

OP, I like your optimism, but I have to take exception to the "finally getting settled into this 3-4 scheme". Against Akron, we gave up several long plays that were/are unacceptable against a pititful mid-major team. The secondary has gotten timely turnovers - I'll give them that - but there have been WAY too many busts in the secondary. UGA has athletes all over the place (as well as a mobile QB) that will most likely exploit this weakness.

And yes, we have a potent offense - but FLA gave all future opponents the blueprint for basically shutting us down. Some teams don't have the horses to do what FLA did schematically on D - but unfortunately UGA has thoroughbreds all over the field.

Again, I appreciate your positive outlook, but I just can't buy it.. I think this is going to be FLA Part 2. Don't mean to rain on your parade.. GBO!!!

I want to be optimistic. I remind myself that it is a game, and when the players take the field, anything can happen. We have a shot at it, and win or lose Im a VFL. I support our team, our coaches and fellow fans, even so-called "negavols". A big win in Athens would go a long way for all of us. A loss just means we gotta keep working harder and evaluating where we are...and when the 2012 project is finished, trust that the right decisions will be made to get UT Football back where it belongs.

I have defended this team against idiots on this site, but i gotta say: 1) our offense has not shown to be potent against SEC, 2) I have yet to see where our defense has settled in. I'm with you man but those 2 points don't have a lot to stand on.

If we can avoid a conplete mental breakdown and play 60 minutes I believe we can beat anyone we play outside Bama. I still believe that. We looked the part against UF until the team simultaneously fell apart.

Great time to be a Vol? It's always great to be a vol, but it's amazing how some of you here have now accepted mediocrity.

Ok so we did give up some ground to akron. It doesn't mean we suck. I remember a title contending bama team who gave up alot of everything to a utah team a few years back. To this day they flinch when you say utah. So Ga has given up alot of ground to teams worse than us. We beat ga puppies this week.GBO!!!!

This is the most far-fetched statement in a post that is divorced from reality.

Its always GREAT to be a TENNESSEE VOL no matter what happens on Saturdays!!! Yes its disappointing but none the less its better than being a fan of anybody else! I know who we are and who were going to be! Were closer now than ever to regaining our depth and maturity as a team. Everybody needs to remember what we lost when we lost CPF as far as recruiting went and then when Kiff layed it to us we got burried so we are about there..... Patience my fellow VOLS were about there! Rome wasnt built over night!!!!!! Lift your heads and stop whinning... Thats what everybody says our team does so we fans need to cut it out as well... We are still TENNESSEE!!!! GO VOLS VFL!!!
