Just watched the 16/17 Vols Hype Video and it had John Ward doing his infamous "It's Football Time in Tennessee", and that got me to thinking:

After Bob Sheppard, the longtime NY Yankees Stadium Public Announcer passed, Derick Jeter insisted that a recording of his voice was played introducing Jeter every time he came to bat up until Jeter's retirement.

Why can't we get the recording of John Ward saying his incredibly inspiring words "It's Football Time in Tennessee" just before the team heads through the Power T?

Crazy idea? Already tried it? John Ward IS Tennessee Football and always will be.

Infamous?
John Ward was too much of a straight arrow to ever be caught doing anything infamous.

It's not that at all. It is just that when John Ward chimes out "It's Football Time in Tennessee", I get tingly all over and even sentimental.

Have you talked to your dr? It may be a stroke. 😜

(just sent this email to the following)

Good Morning Mr. Hart, Coach Jones, Jon Gilbert and Chris Spognardi

Thank you for reading my email today as this request comes from a 1979 Graduate of The University of Tennessee.

Through a lifetime of being a UT fan, there are no five words that inspire me and or get me more revved up than John Ward bellowing “It’s Football Time in Tennessee”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lj7UfmKw_wM

Would the University consider playing those enshrined words (by John Ward) prior to the Vols storming through the Power T before every game? With the passing of Bobby Denton, also an iconic voice for decades at Neyland Stadium, I just thought it would be nice to add some continuity to our colorful history of Volunteer Football.

Respectfully submitted,

Doug Terhune
