Ever since Kesling took over for Mr. Ward after the 98' Championship Game the program has gone down hill. He always gets the score wrong and never gives the time in basketball games. If your gonna clean house get rid of Fat Bob. Go make Mike Keith an offer he can't refuse.
There are some on here who really dislike Mike. I don't understand why, I think he is great. I like him with the Titans but he would certainly go along with the new theme at UTK of youthful enthusiasm. I mean I'll take" T-O-U-C-H-D-O-W-NNNNNNNN BIG ORANGE!!!!" over "into the checkerboards" anyday.
Mike Keith used to work for the Vol Network. I had a conversation with him one time and he told me that Jon Ward was his mentor. He also said he was actually considered to replace Ward, but Kesling got the job instead.
I am a big Titans fan, so I am fine with him with the Titans.
I wish that if Kesling was going to continue using "Football time in Tennessee" that he'd actually say it at the right time, when the team runs through the T.
Mike Keith is one of those voices that doesn't sound right for any other team...it also takes a while to grow on you...but it's definitely not generic.
Bob went to UT and has been the voice of the Lady Vols since around the time Pat Summitt became head coach...I'd say it's fair to say he didn't jinx them...

He actually played fullback for the Vols, he was a Freshman when Fulmer was a Senior. Bob has some great stories from his days on the team, he was never good enough to play, but he did run through the T.

Yeah, I personally like Mike Keith's radio broadcast better than Kesling's. I went to the UT broadcasting camp when I was in high school, and Kelsing certainly knows what he's doing, but he also spent a lot of time doing TV work before he became the lead at the Vol Network, and I think his style is a little better suited to TV. By the way, the highlight of that camp was the day that John Ward came and spoke. He's a really cool guy and I've got a picture that he autographed for me.
