We have one of the greatest traditions in the HISTORY of football.

One of the greatest fan bases.

Some of the greatest players to play college football and in the NFL came through this school.

Sure we've had some tough seasons recently, but it's nothing we can't overcome.

We are on the verge of the biggest hire in UT history in years and I for one am excited.

I am sick of seeing the "it sucks being a vol fan threads".

What are some of the reasons you think it's amazing being a Vol fan? Let's get some positive momentum going.

We have one of the largest stadiums in college football and it is larger than all of the NFL stadiums.

Of all of the teams in the NCAA, we have defeated Alabama more than anyone.

We won the first BCS Championship

In 1992, we had both the NFL offensive rookie of the year ( Carl Pickens) and the NFL defensive rookie of the year ( Dale Carter)

We are #8 in all time wins in of all NCAA programs.

We are #3 in all time bowl appearances.

We are #7 in all time bowl wins.

At one point, we had more players on NFL rosters than any other college. 42 players in total.

We have never been in serious trouble with the NCAA.

We have the largest recruiting budget of any program in the NCAA.

We have two, soon to be four, alumni in the NFL Hall of Fame. Adkins, White, soon to be Manning & Witten....

We have the NCAA record for the only team to have a defense in which no team scored on them the entire season. No fieldgoals, no T.D.'s. No points at all....

We have the record for the longest running touchdown in college from the line of scrimmage in college history.
1976 Kelsey Finch 99 yards against Florida....

One of only two college programs to have a Navy. Us and Washington.

The first college to ever have artificial turf....

'Cause I don't have to get up in the morning to look myself in the mirror and try to find some positive reason for being an ala-damn-bama fan and can instead leap out of bed to attack the world because I am a VFL.

...in Oregon. The only people in this entire state that know a thing about football are other Tennessee fans. I don't ever have to hear shat about Bama, or Florida, or any of our enemies. These people don't even talk about Oregon football hardly. So it's been easy being here for 3 years. I hope we kick their azz next year! I'll be there in Orange!! GO VOLS

Wow! Never been to Oregon, but when I was in Cali there was a lot of Vol fans wearing gear around San Diego and LA. This was back in the late 90's though when we were a lot better.

Yeah I live up here in Wisconsin. I don't see anything but packers up here and some badger fans. I wear my Tennessee gear all the time and if anybody says anything it is usually " Tennessee is beautiful" and I am like "Yes I know and thank you":)

I met 3 nice lady's from Chicago in Nashville one night and they told me nobody cares about college football up there not even Notre Dame. She told me they love how passionate we are about our state teams and region etc. A I simply replied, IT LIFE AND LIFE IS ORANGE & WHITE. (In my Charlie Daniels voice) lol

I've been all over the US many times. Used to travel for a living & stay in places anywhere from a week to 6 months. People always had a nice view of TN. Would say things like its beautiful there, y'all are so nice, etc. they knew all out UT football, orange, the Power T & Pat Summitt. Always made me proud to be a Tennessean & a Vol!

Our passionate fanbase has to be one of the best things about Tennessee. I was in Ohio one time during a bowl game, and they wanted to go shopping.. I was like you do know Tennessee and Ohio St is playing today right? They said they would catch it on sportscenter.. Needless to say they were shopping without me..

Its amazing that I still love the Vols even after they screw up another coaching hire. And how many times are we gonna hire a new coach and say, after 2 good recruiting classes we will be back? Yeah right. It is a joke that we have former players kids going to other schools over Tenn and losing our best in state kids to other schools.
