The % of AA aths on our team requires that they have certain mentors they can relate to.
Also, & most important, other schools will use this to big
advantage against us.
This has nothing to do with being racist, I just feel we need some qualified AA coaches, & hope LK has some in mind since Scott,Perry,Lake, to mention a few are out.
Seems Drayton might be made official soon!

I understand what you are saying and agree that there might be some merit to it, but could it also be considered a little racist to assume that black kids can only be mentored by and relate to black coaches?

If not this would be used by opponents to our great detriment against us.

It wouldnt hurt but I would rather kiffin hire the best possible regardless of race. I dont care if the coach is white , black or purple.. Just want the best we can get.

It is more about perception.

Other staffs will use any tactic it can to push a recruit away from a rival. If it means calling another program racist for not having black coaches it will do it.

Sad fact, but it is a fact.

Would you be willing to cut Orgeron and bring in Garner just because he's black? Would you rather have Eddie Gran or Drayton?

I want the people who are best for the job. If a recruit won't come here because he thinks it's racist that we don't have any black coaches, we don't need him.

Im not saying you don't hire the best guy for the job, but fact is that will be played against us. We are talking about HS kids that are can be influenced in the wrong way about a lot of things.

It ain't as simple as some think.

Only racist shout racism, cause they got there somebody else feelings hurt, We want the best coaches period, color dosent coach, that I know of. And kids need good positive role models in there life not BAFOONS! So Get Snoop I hear he has a mean offensive scheme!

That may be true but I doubt Kiffin goes after a coach just because he is a minority.
If the best available coach is a minority then yes buy all means hire him.
We want the recurits that want to be here.

Maybe we should have AA smileys, or maybe I will give my job to an AA since I have more AA employees than I do managers. I can not stand the people who start this crap. This crap is what actually feeds the idiots who are racist.

You hire the best person for the job, period. This would be like arguing that there shouldn't be men coaching women's sports, because they can't relate to them.
