At one point in the 2nd quarter last night, I just lost it & went outside for a walk to cool off. I'm so sick of Florida and their fans and the way we just give games away to them annually. But as bad as our guys played and as bad as the coaching was (no blitzes on D and insistence on running up the middle on 1st & 2nd down), there's no way I'm giving up on Pruitt.

I tell you when I saw him going for it on 4th down a few times and when he attempted that on-side kick, I said then and there, "That's our coach!" If he can maintain our recruiting class after a disastrous season, he's the guy. Heck, I even liked it when he kicked the whiteboard on the sideline. Here's a guy who's not used to anything but national championships and it's understandable how frustrated he is with our guys (especially our soft OL). These guys are going to learn to play up to the "STANDARD" or they'll leave. I just hope we can keep him.

It'll happen under Pruitt....
Yes it will.

Now, just what will happen is the big question, is it not?

Awesome post to get all the coach bots to chime in and now I can put them on my ignore list. Bravo.

Just because he kicked an outside kick out of desperation and went for it on 4th down while getting your rear handed to you, doesnt mean you are a good coach.
Only time will tell how good Pruitt will be, but of the only thing we have to go from based on head.coach experience, his first 4 games havent been good, at all.

Also weird that you "lost" it watching a football game, but maybe im just assuming youre grown.

What do like that you see so far?
Fair question?
I know you weren't asking me but I think the players are playing hard especially on defense, o put them in some horrible situations yesterday but still think they did fairly well considering how long they were on the field with as little depth we have. Still trying to make the highlight reel tackle instead of wrapping up but that must be the norm now because I see it all the time even in the pros doesn't make it correct though. O line I feel are trying they just aren't very good, running backs are running hard especially Banks, London did some good things yesterday as well. Receivers are good QB just doesn't have alot of time to get it to them. QB and o line are my biggest concerns, don't get me wrong I like JG and am not bashing him that kid is tough as a pine knot I just don't think he's very good not like he could prove me wrong considering he has no time to try. I don't think anyone gave up yesterday just out manned on the line of scrimmage. But hey got some pressure on the Franks yesterday so that's progress

It wasn’t desperation. It was planned and practiced leading up to the game.

Desperate is when you make decisions you didn’t prepare for

I for one like the fact that we finally have a coach who hates to lose....he's trying to bring the team up to his standard of playing winning football. It seems to me that he is trying to teach them the fundamentals of playing the game properly and is not willing to play down to their abilities. Given time and bringing in new talent to try to learn to play championship football will pay off in the long run! Trying to call plays with what this team was used to under Butch may get us a win or two more this year, but we will still be mediocre for years to come.... teach this year to have a better opportunity for the coming years.... gonna be a painful trip, but Saban didn't turn Bama into a dynasty in year one either!!!

I guess we as a fan base are gonna have to get used to the fact the next proaby 3 seasons are gonna suck until the Butch Jones is washed completely out of this program nothing is gonna change. I mean I don’t hold it on the guys playing you either have the level of god given talent it takes to compete in this league or you don’t. Not their fault Butch brought them here

I. too. hope we can keep him. He is not accustomed to coaching a "losing team". It would be
real easy for him to become frustrated one day and throw his hands up in despair and quit. He said he
didn't come to Tennessee to win 6 games. That's unfortunate because if we won 6 games this year, I
would consider that good progress.
