It would great if...

That's why I didn't mention Hurd. He usually got caught from behind. But Dobbs, Kamara, and now Kelly are absolutely home run threats. And that is why I gave my response to the original poster who said he has felt like we haven't had anybody to break a big run. The reason I mentioned the rushing success from recent years is because that would also be indicative of offensive players with the ability to break long runs. If he had said the same thing about the Rajon Neal to Marlin Lane years I could understand. But recent teams have had a lot of explosive ability on the ground.

I see your point Dodger.

Kamara showed his stuff when his opportunity presented itself. But, he wasn't going to bust it up the middle or off tackle, make one cut, maybe two, then be gone. He had to be out in open space and work his magic. Kamara was electrifying but not "gone".

Hurd, I never saw even a one cut and gone. He may have had a lot of yards but the kid was fed the ball all game. And then still didn't show much. As far as Neal, Lane and Pig, nah, not much better.

Kelly hasn't shown to be any better than Bryce Brown when he was here. That's not saying he wont come on this season but so far, he hasn't measured up Garner, Graham, Webb, Hardesty, Lewis and so on. Then again, some of those were JUCO. Cobb, even as a freshman, was a stud!

Where are you from, dodger?

It would be great if recruiting keeps up the steam and everyone gets developed into their full ability and potential.

Probably, but wouldn't it be nice for a change to finish ahead of expectations?

He didn't realize he was saying it would be great if we lose 5 possibly 6. That's why JP is correct, he is a terrible troll.

It would be great if CBJ's staff gels, player development improves, the program evolves to produce team after team that the pundits expect to challenge for the SEC championship, average victories per season ratchets up to 10+ over the ensuing decade and a half, and Bammers get rumbly tummies and night sweats leading up to the third Saturday in October. We could all say, we were there; we witnessed the beginning of the next bright era of Tennessee football.

At this moment, I don't know. But I do know that every assistant coach anyone had any somewhat solid reasons to doubt are gone. And most of the coaches brought in have either impressed by reputation, by hitting the ground running, or both. In that, there is reasons to be hopeful, but also to wait and see.

The fact we finally had men in orange selected in the draft is a relief, but guys no longer here don't help you win championships. They do, however, impress the next round of recruits and it seems to be helping wrangle in some players for the 2018 and 19 classes that pleases that forum. I feel a lot of folks are questioning the 2017 haul. Though we bring in No.1 recruit Trey Smith and some other solid players, there were some highly regarded players that got away and we settled for some good guys who didn't have enough stars. But how many highly regarded guys came in and faded into the woodwork or transferred out? Maybe being underrated bodes well? Guess we will see.

Though I still firmly support Butch Jones, he is my biggest concern. Sometimes he seems his own worst enemy. Is it just me, or when he opens his mouth does he sometimes seem the coaching equivalent of a buddhist monk dousing himself in gasoline and setting himself on fire? If I have a concern about this team or it's coach, it is another press conference faux pas. Despite that, I feel he has done a better job bringing in quality student athletes. Yes, we have had a few incidents with Butch's recruits but overall the character of the players seems to have risen, and I am damn proud of that. It may not matter to many, but it matters to me.

And if you don't like it, in the words of Eric Cartman, "Screw you guys, I'm going home."

Aaron Medley becomes the all time FGM leader in Tennessee history breaking Fuad Reveiz record of 71, Medley currently sits at 52.

He will do this by kicking better than 80% on the season.

I remember when Tennessee engineering students analyzed an image of one of Fuad Reveiz's kick-offs going through the uprights and averred that it was perfectly centered.

It would be great if ... Josh Smith went out with a bang. I predict that he catches two game winning passes this year, against Georgia and LSU.

U know, it would probably be good for the 2017 Vols, if he does break the record. But, it would still be a damn shame, simply because Medley isn't half the kicker Carlos was, oh, my bad, wrong Reveiz. But, he's not half as good as Carlos and shouldn't be mentioned in the same paragraph as Fuad. Although, I just did it.

It would be great if Shy Tuttle was fully recovered from his injuries and stayed healthy all year. And KMac went off so hard, he would have to go to the NFL, because he was just that dominant. As would a healthy Shy

all the road games will close calls, at home GA,LSU, will be close calls. the laws of average says we lose 3 to 4 games.

That would mean we'd have to attempt around 24 fg's. That means about 2 attempts per game. That's a few more stalled drives than I want to see.

I just read this on 247 from Patrick Brown:

"The latest tidbit I have on Vols defensive tackle Shy Tuttle is that he resumed light running the past 10 days or so. He remains positive and continues to attack his rehab. But there appears to be a long way to go there."
