It would be great if...

I can make every home game. I've had season tickets since 2010, but this is the closest I've lived since having them. Didn't get to see too many stationed in Alaska (made the 2015 Arkansas game while in school in GA) and the bowl game this past year.

It would be great if...

...my dad and I have another great season of traveling to Knoxville and watching the Vols play ball at Neyland.

It would be great if...

...that season includes the Vols winning all the games they should and a few that they honestly shouldn't win.
Welcome to VN tbh! I'd love to be able to watch the Vols with my dad again too.

What about defense? Is it a possibility that Shoop and Hoke have made a major improvement and all of us are pleasantly surprised? Sure it is. Season can't get here fast enough.

Yes, I believe, nay, I expect year 2 of Shoop with the addition of "Big Man" Brady Hoke to reveal a badass stingy Tennessee D. The loss of stand-out players has been discussed ad nauseum, but, my expectation is based upon improvement in cohesive team play - anticipation & recognition of the offense, seamless movement to plug gaps, pick up receivers, shut down lanes - thwart, frustrate, tackles for loss, force errors, take-aways. New stars may emerge, but team execution will be the notable key to the Vols D.

I hope you do too. Hope they're all wins and we can say your new little Lady Vol is a good luck charm to us, as well as a blessing to you and your family. Congratulations by the way. I was waiting for the right opportunity. This will work.

Thanks.

That would be nice. I tell my wife all the time it's her fault that the Vols have had this tumultuous period. We started dating in 2006

I'm not expecting that to happen, even though I know anything is possible, but realistically for me is to give them all they can handle and get out of there with no turnovers, no stupid mistakes, no injuries and a close loss. That being the only one heading into Atlanta.

No. I quote Sargent Barnes, "Everybody gotta die sometime, Red."

Since 2010, Bama's regular season losses are 4 away and 4 at home. During Butch's tenure, Bama's victories over the Vols have been 45-10 @AL, 34-20 @TN, 19-14 @AL, 49-10 @TN. Averaged, Bama's margin of victory has been higher on the road than at home in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Preferably sooner rather than later, a Saban coached Bama team will lose to Tennessee. Presently, the math indicates a slightly greater likelihood that this will occur at Bama.

Butch is fired and UT hires Chip Kelly

If Butch is fired, that means we had a horrible season.
Seems an odd thing to wish for.

But to the thread, would love to see an improved passing attack. And of course, that would mean Jennings makes a lot more toast this season. That combination leading us to a 10-win season minimum.

Well, Behr provided the perfect opportunity to show those "hopes" everyone claims they have. No bashing needed, only a great opportunity to show Tennessee success is everyone's true desire.
Interesting responses.

John Kelly rushes for 100+ yards in 7 games (GT, UMASS, USC, UK, USM, Mizzou, Vandy) and 1,100 yards total with 13 touchdowns. As well as 380 yards receiving and 3 receiving touchdowns.

Where do you get your gator tail hawk? Local market?

You would think here in Ft.Myers it would be easy to find. It's not. No body likes it. Haha.

I order mine from cajungrocer.com. Actually not much costlier than Food City even with shipping. And already seasoned. Misspelled cajun and i've only had 3 beers LOL.

It would be great if...

-- We break the streak against the SEC West this year. Either LSU or Bama, or heck both, but just let's break that streak the way we did Florida's last fall.

-- We start a new streak against Florida, 2 and counting, and extend the UGa streak to 3. Put ourselves finally into the driver seat in the East.

-- We break the habit of losing at least one game a year we should win. No losses in 2017 to anyone not named FL, UGa, Bama, or LSU. Period. [and maybe some of those not losses, either]

-- Jauan Jennings proves last season was not a fluke by doing even MORE eye-opening things this year. Highlight reel things. Several of them, one or two every game, all season long.

-- Butch goes an entire season without a single mis-step. Solid play-calling in key situations, adroit messaging when talking with the press, staying out of his own way and being the coach we all hope he can be.

-- Bob Shoop proves he is indeed all that and a bag of chips, too. That the slam-dunk hire was indeed a slam dunk.

-- Evan Berry and Trevor Daniel and the whole gang turn our special teams into magic again, like they were in 2015.

-- KB leads the doubting contingent into acceptance of our coaching staff, top to bottom, because of results. I been looking forward to KB being excited and positive about our program practically since I arrived here, and really thought we got there last fall when we took down Florida. If it weren't for USCe and Vandy, I think he'd have been there, too. Here's hoping this is the year. KB is, for me, the canary in the coal mine. If he makes the switch, everyone reasonable will have as well.

Those are some of the biggest "it would be great if" points, for me.

I was going to come up with my own, but this pretty much sums it up.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This comes up a little short. What's called for is a psychologically scarring defeat of SoCar that leaves Muschamp unable to coach effectively against Tennessee ever again. Amen, and pass the crunchy Cheetos.

Good list JP. One thing that I find interesting is that Butch now has a reputation of losing at least one game a year that he shouldn't. I got to thinking about that and before this past season you could argue that, while he didn't beat anybody that he wasn't supposed to, he was good at beating the underdogs and not letting his team have a let down. If I remember correctly before last year, Butch only lost games in which his team were the underdog and now all of a sudden there's a "habit" or "trend," of losing at least one to someone they shouldn't.

Point is. I'm more willing to chalk those losses to USCe and Vandy up more to a withered defense that had to put up with major attrition for double-digit weeks, than a "trend" based off of 1 season. Because for Jones' first 3 years he did a good job of beating the underdogs.

It would be great if this new staff can gel together and become a truly championship staff. I think they can.
It would be great if the players potential turns into production. I think this can happen also.
It would be great if we as fans united behind this team and show the football world we are the greatest fanbase on Earth!

Unfortunately I think that the first two goals are more attainable than a unified fan base. We will always have fans that complain no matter what.
