It will be disappointing if we don't win out

Our defense isn’t as bad as some of you think
While I generally agree, I think Ty Simpson will be rough on our DBs. He is very accurate and if we don't get to him, I can see him picking us apart. I know many will disagree but I don't like our chances if we can't make him rush his throws.

Bama and Florida will be by far be our toughest games, for the simple fact they are on the road. OU will be tough also. 2 more losses.

So, OP is counting from zero, so it comes before one, then he's saying Tennessee fans are the OG?!

I feel Tennessee won't lose another home game, we will beat Florida easily and this is also the year we finally beat Bama on the road. I also just don't see us losing on the road to MSU or UK.

I always have to count on one more loss to a team that Tennessee should never lose to, but even then it's. 10-2 season. hot damn.

I mean I think we have a good team but I see nothing that definitely says we are objectively better than Bama, Oklahoma or Vanderbilt. We’ve played one good team and performed well. Regardless though, if we don’t get some guys back on defense, it’s going to a tough season to manage. We “can” beat all those teams but the odds of going undefeated from here on out is slim. But being hopeful is what makes college sports so great! So yeah let’s win em all!

3 game schedule left basically (totally disrespecting Arkansas). 1-2 is a damned disatrophy. 2-1 is breaking even counting UGA loss. Finish 3-0, and everyone is happy.

The days of winning 10 or more games without having dominant units on both sides of the ball are just about over. We somehow managed to pull it off last year because of an unusually weak SEC and a favorable schedule. This defense is gonna continue to get destroyed against good offenses. We can still outscore teams in that situation but to say it's gonna happen every time defies the law of averages.
To say this defense will get destroyed is not accurate… they punch back hence we are always top 5-10 in tfl n sacks… once the DL continues to healthier they will be even better… I don’t see a better offense in the country than ours right now and our first team defense is still a active and disruptive unit… they playing 100 plays a game because how dominant and efficient Joey and the offense have played..

Yeah, that's right. I think we can win out and we should win out. Will we? Probably not. But we should.

MS? We are a much better team. We beat OK, Vandy and UK away last year, we should beat them in Neyland. AR is at Neyland this year. We have a much better QB this year. Florida is garbage this year. This is the worst Bama team in years.

I want to beat Florida and Bama away, first time in 23 years. I want to finally beat UGA at the SEC championship in December this year. I want a first round bye in the playoffs. I want to be 11-1. We are capable.

Like I said, we probably won't. But I'm tired of the rest of the nation looking down on us. We are a Tier 1 team. We are a Tier 0 fan base. We aren't #24. But being 10-2 and losing in the first round in the playoffs isn't good enough anymore.
Whine, whine, whine. The sky is falling before we even play the next game. Normally, every team loses at least one or two games. Sooo, what makes you think this team should be any different? Yes, we all want to win them all, but how about not whining before the season is even over and think like a realist? If we exceed that great, if we don't it's not the end of the world.

For one thing nobody goes undefeated this year. If we lose 1-3 games it will be a good great season. If you live with the all or nothing mentality you will be disappointed more than 90% of the time.

And we beat all of them last year. Are they that much better than last year? Is Joey that much worse than Nico?

To be saying/hoping/ dreamin' that we could run the table from now till December is just setting oneself up for a let down if we don't achieve such a lofty goal. It would be GREAT to do so mind you, but I, perhaps like nobody else, adhere to the theory of ONE GAME AT A TIME. Let's travel to MS and focus on beating Miss State this weekend is the ONLY thing on my mind. Don't know or care (yet) about our foe the week after.

One of my most prolific bosses (in real estate) years, ok, decades ago, said Doug, picture yourself walking through an apple orchard and you are carrying an empty basket on your back. Your only job is to focus straight ahead and find a great apple apple that you can reach. Pick it, put it in your basket, and focus on the next apple. At the end of your walk through the orchard, your basket should be full but, only if you focus on just the next apple and, most importantly, not on what is in your basket. Next apple is Miss State. Go Vols.

I think your wishful thinking. We all know inevitably this team will lose a game they aren’t supposed to.. it’s happened the last four years under Heupel. Hard to believe we break the 20+ year losing streak in Tuscaloosa/Gainsville this year, especially with a banged up defense. Not trying to be a pessimist but this is what history has taught us..
We will have to win both those games in a shoot out style game …. Bama s defense looks even more down than ours. Florida defense actually looks pretty solid . hopefully time we play them, they will
Be depleted and Down and done gave up lol.

I hope to see it..but honestly I see 8-4 /9-3 at best, @bama @Florida will be the toughest, regardless of how good Florida is, playing there..where we haven't won in forever will be tough, I don't see us beating Bama in Tuscaloosa

i see two more losses to Bama and either OU or Florida. Arkansas will not be easy either nor will Vandy
The same bama that got throttled by FSU? The OU who just lost their starting qb and have no run game to speak of? The gators who are 1-3 and can’t break 10 points? Arkansas who just got clapped by Memphis state? Don’t even start with Vandy, spotted em 14 last year and pavio magic still couldn’t beat us.

I see 3-4. What's disappointing for me is that injuries will keep us from making hay with this schedule. We've had 2 years to enjoy this level of schedule. Gotta think the tables turn for us next year and we get the UF kind of schedule. Heupel has had ample time to build his roster. Will be interesting to see what he does with it.
I’m sure you had us at 7-6 8-5 last year as well

15th in total defense in the conference.

98th in scoring defense in the country.

Its pretty bad. Hopefully getting some guys back from injury will help.
Ehh the ga game kinda skews it. A pretty good Syracuse team put up some points on us but the rest is garbage time with starters playing 4th and 5th string walkons
