It will be disappointing if we don't win out

Yeah, that's right. I think we can win out and we should win out. Will we? Probably not. But we should.

MS? We are a much better team. We beat OK, Vandy and UK away last year, we should beat them in Neyland. AR is at Neyland this year. We have a much better QB this year. Florida is garbage this year. This is the worst Bama team in years.

I want to beat Florida and Bama away, first time in 23 years. I want to finally beat UGA at the SEC championship in December this year. I want a first round bye in the playoffs. I want to be 11-1. We are capable.

Like I said, we probably won't. But I'm tired of the rest of the nation looking down on us. We are a Tier 1 team. We are a Tier 0 fan base. We aren't #24. But being 10-2 and losing in the first round in the playoffs isn't good enough anymore.
We get it. You just want to be upset at the coaches, so you're setting up for the outrage. You guys are ridiculous. We had zero business winning 9 games this year. ZERO. This was always a rebuilding year. We literally lost 9 starters on offense and most of our most experienced players on defense. What the coaches are accomplishing is incredible.

Weird stuff happens in college football ALL THE TIME. Setting parameters in a rebuilding year is setting yourself up for disappointment

10-2 and another playoff berth in a year that we were predicted to be "down" would be a huge success. 11-1 is obviously ideal, but I wouldn't be upset with 10-2 at all.

Dont think Alabama or Florida are as bad as ppl think they are

I agree. Especially Florida. They were on a drive to take the lead in Miami and ended up losing by a few scores in the end but they hung in there. Our best bet would be for them to be 2-8 or 3-7 by the time they play us and completely checked out on their season. Otherwise expect a dogfight in Gainesville as usual.

Bama will always be Bama until their recruiting takes a major dive. I think we have a better chance at taking down Oklahoma in Neyland than Bama in Tuscaloosa.

I’m mystified at this thought of disappointment if we don’t win out. Most people thought 9-3 or 8-4 at best. It’s amazing how 4 games in change perception. We’re not winning out IMO.

It's one thing to be a posiVol and another to be a complete buffoon.
Our pass defense is porous at best and is on the end tier of all FBS from what I have read.
Mateer has the capability to shred our defense, Ala is always tough and if you think the
Fla game is a gimme, good luck with that!

I hope we are undefeated the rest of the way but I don't see it. 9-3

Teams are completely different this season, primarily because of the transfer portal. OU now has a QB and can play with anyone in the country it seems. So far, OU is the biggest turnaround after 1 season. Remarkable.

MS. St. has a QB and built up their roster as well. They are good, just don't know how good yet. Tennessee does not play well on the road. This will be a big test and we'll know more about each team after Saturday, I believe.

Can UT win out? Possibly. Is UTs season over if they drop another game? No. Drop 2 more games? Maybe. At the end of the day a 10 win SEC team is in playoff and possibly a 9 win team depending on who those wins/loses are against.

It will be harder than ever for teams to not have 1, 2, 3 losses, more so than ever with the transfer portal distributing better quality players to more programs. The game has just changed and this is a great thing for players collectively. This is why Saban quit. He didn't retire, he quit. He didn't like the new rules because he couldn't consolidate talent by illegally recruiting/paying players/cheating as much as before.

As good as OH St. was last year, they lost to Michigan. I know you aren't suggesting the Vols will be undefeated because they've already dropped one to UGA but running the table in general doesn't happen often. I believe in the last 5 football seasons there have only been 2 undefeated teams.

i see two more losses to Bama and either OU or Florida. Arkansas will not be easy either nor will Vandy
I see 3-4. What's disappointing for me is that injuries will keep us from making hay with this schedule. We've had 2 years to enjoy this level of schedule. Gotta think the tables turn for us next year and we get the UF kind of schedule. Heupel has had ample time to build his roster. Will be interesting to see what he does with it.

I think we absolutely can win out. Defense has to be better. Absolutely no questions asked, has to get better. I know we’re missing some pieces from injury, when those guys get back, it should help.

I don’t think we end up 11-1, is it possible? Sure, but Bama is going to be tough in Tuscaloosa, Florida is always tough in Gainesville, but Heup needs one of those two. Both would be huge but I’ll take one.

Don’t sleep on Miss State this weekend. I only say that because it is on the road. If Heupel will come out aggressive and stay aggressive, we will be fine. Miss State is better than they have been.

The days of winning 10 or more games without having dominant units on both sides of the ball are just about over. We somehow managed to pull it off last year because of a unusually weak SEC and a favorable schedule. This defense is gonna continue to get destroyed against good offenses. We can still outscore teams in that situation but to say it's gonna happen every time defies the law of averages.

More likely we end the streak in the swamp than Bryant Denny. still won’t be easy winning at either place bad things tend to happen to us at those stadiums.
I think Bama is better than last years team. Their QB is athletic but not as much as Milroe but he manages the game much better than Milroe, IMO making them more sound at QB. Milroe would do great things and the next series would do dumb freshman things, it was maddening to the Bama fans.

I’d actually like to see them have a bit of success. That way our guys don’t overlook them and it’s not their “Super Bowl” to end a crappy year. They ended last year spoiling Ole Miss’s playoff run (and allowing us in!)
