My girlfiend and I were in town monday night and decided to stop by the mckenzie-thompson center. I walked out onto the turf and looking at the banners that hung above I thought of all the hard work that was put in by some of the greats that have practiced here. We walked on through to the main entrance and there it was the 1998 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP sears trophie.
I turned arouned and took about 3 steps and saw the office directory. I slowly read down through it. Jim Chaney 220, Lane Kiffin 243, Monte Kiffin 233, Ed Orgeron 323. At that point turing around and staring at the NCT I realized with the staff on that board the case that holds that sacred trophie might need to be enlarged.
I walked on up the stairs and looked around Finally I got to office 243 that read Head Football Coach Lane Kiffin. Instead of being dissapointed I was excited knowing that our HCLK is not in his office because he is in another state on the recruiting trail.
The reason I shared this with my VN is because all this information has been proccessed for the most part right here on my computer, and until I came up on that office directory and saw no Phil Fullmer Or Chavis Or Brooks or thank GOD no Clawson, I saw that great staff that had been compiled to bring tennessee football back to where it belongs and that is the championship level.
Reality will set in even more so when I enter Neyland next year and see them walking the sidelines. But guys we have something to be excited about and lets hope Even more to be excited about on signing day, and even more to be excited about when kickoff comes around.
