It took Kentucky 5 years to get the defense right

We need coaches. Helton isnt the long term answer. There is worse for sure, see Butch Jones and Larry Scott, but isnt good. And Pruitt got schooled tonight by Muschamp's OC, absolutely schooled. I am embarrassed for him

Ok, lets wait another 5 years to be competitive in the EAST because of Kentucky. Sounds perfect.

But we can’t fire Pruitt after one year. I think we see a big step forward next year with a full season of his scheme and another class of recruits

Florida, Georgia, and LSU already had the horses. We don’t. It’ll take some time. Patience young grasshoppers. We have the right coaches in place and a few of these freshmen and sophomores are legit.

Well said. We'll get there and it will be quicker than 5 years.

Sweet. If we try REAL hard one day we can be as good as Kentucky in football..

Hey Alec, How about Words You Never Thought You'd See Put Together in That Order for $3.846 million dollars.

think you might have misinterpreted what he said. he said that it took Kentucky 5 years. and that we (presumably speaking to us fans) should have patience.

he didn't say we need to wait 5 years or that it would even take us 5 years to get the defense right. just that it took that long at Kentucky (who obviously is much below us history when it comes to football and the talent on the football team).

hopefully it only takes us a year or two to start rolling on defense. it looks somehat obvious that it won't be this year unfortunately

You’re comparing UT’s expectations to Kentucky?

Makes no sense.

Watch it again from a different perspective. Their OL dominated our front 7. Our only stops were when Pruitt guessed right and sometimes they ran right into a run blitz and still got 7 yards.

One of the worst offenses in the SEC. Our D played UGA better. The team had the capacity to perform better, they did not.

Kentucky had ranked 10-13th in recruiting the last 4 years. That's in the SEC, not the nation BTW. Expectations here are way way higher than they are there and should be. You don't get 5 years to get it right here. If we aren't markedly better in year 3, the clock is ticking to the next coach.

You haven’t been paying attention to what our university actually does

Dooley got ran after year 3. Butch won 9 in year 3 and 4 and got ran in year 5. Not sure what they do (besides make terrible hires) that suggests my post is wrong.

Hate all you want but they haven’t given up more than 20 points all season. Other than Alabama they’ve got the best defense in the SEC.

They also haven’t won the SEC in 68 years.

I’ll not emulate Kentucky.

Knock yourself out.
