"Twist in the wind"? He's getting paid hefty to win at UT. Ask yourself is this university or the fans for that matter getting what they pay for? To much money is being paid out for these results.If he's going to steal this kind of money he should at least wear a mask.

He may be a good man and a good father but as a coach your record speaks for itself and his isnt great. He may go back to a lower level school and do fine but we can't keep loosing and expect the fans to not get rowdy. This was supposed to be "the" year and he's embarrassing this university and it's fans and then in the pressers with the constant "I don't know" He's paid alot of money to know.

Exactly, he is a good man. I would have loved for this to have worked out for him. The guy is not an axe murderer. If he leaves, I wish him well.

All part of not getting the job done. If I stopped doing my job they would find me a replacement. No 5 million dollars to me.

I KNOW IM GLAD HE CAN JUST GETAWAY FROM IT.

I willalways follow dooley if he coaches elsewhere ,Apart of me would love for him to be a commentator of some sort.I will miss him.I just kept up with the team more since he was coach.But I understand for sure why he was let go.Sal is a person I will be glad when he leaves knoxville.

With what he was making... 5 million buys him 2 to 2.5 years of time to find a new job! He is not left to rot!

Some of you people are really immature and pathetic.

You act like the only thing that CDD cares about is the $5 Million buyout and that's simply NOT the case.

His wife is a Doctor and he was an attorney before his love of football and love of trying to teach kids how to become both good men and good football players brought him back to coaching football and he WAS a Millionaire BEFORE he even took the job at La. Tech for crying out loud.

CDD and Hamilton both knew that our Vols football program was a total disaster and that it would take at least 4 or 5 years or longer to get us built back up to being a contender every year for the SEC East Title and maybe the SEC Champions with a shot at another National Championship.

The $5 Million buyout clause was an attempt to let CDD have at least 4 or 5 years of HIS recruiting classes so he could rebuild our Vols with the type of players he needed to fit his O and D systems.

Have a little class people and show some consideration and respect for CDD, his wife and kids and understand that he DID try his best to rebuild us as fast as he could but he only got 2 of HIS recruiting classes on the team and they're just Sophs and Freshmen and he DID get us some really good football players on our roster.

He is a good man and he did NOT lie to us because he thought our kids would learn the 3-4 D faster and mixing in our 4-3 D would also help us and you can bet that neither CDD or CSS had any idea our kids would learn so slowly and that our Defense would be this bad all season long.

We'll probably lose all our coaches and I say THANKS for trying to make us a better team and I wish all our coaches all the best in whatever they do in the future.

MZTERRY....Many of us stand with you and hope all goes well for CDD and all our current coaches and we love you and your son too and we're happy and greatful to have your son as a Vol For Life and we look forward to watching him learn and grow and become a shining star both as a footVol player and as a fine young man.

Pleasew keep us posted on how he's doing and what all is going on with him and our other fine footVol players.
