I don't know if you're really this ignorant or not. I hope you aren't. Berry had no legitimate chance of winning the Heisman, unless he returned punts and kicks and played offense too. Get a clue man. Teams don't throw his way. They don't want to throw his way. They know what will happen if they do throw his way. Eric Berry is THE BEST secondary player we have EVER had at UT. Period. That is a generally acknowledged fact. Monte's scheme moves him around much more than he did under Chavis. He's a much more complete player this season. Last year, which was a great year for him, they were all great, all he had to do was play coverage and run coverage over the top. There was no bringing him down in the box to stop the run under Chavis. He always makes an impact. Just because that doesn't reflect in his personal stats doesn't mean he doesn't make an impact. He's probably in a handful of defensive players in the COUNTRY that offenses specifically game plan around. Get a freakin' clue.
And what does your shirtless recruits comment mean? You prefer we recruit players who are never photographed without their shirt on? Go back to Amish country where you belong man. I don't give a crap if a guy wants to take his shirt off, if he can run fast, jump high, catch a ball, throw a ball or tackle, sign him up.

That's very true, but I still think a reasonable kicker could have made all of those kicks and why we should hold CLK accountable. That's all I've been trying to get across.

My shirtless recruit comment was about the "UT Wildboys" incidents that I heard about from my buddy at the shop. Never in my life would I think that would be acceptable for the men of UT....but then again we are in the 2000s and bare man chest on bare man chest is acceptable and permitted. I rest my case.

I have more confidence in NS than DL. I saw NS miss numerous field goals and extra points during the games he lost last year, but I felt better about those losses. I also saw him during the O&W game and hear he did better in practice. This was confirmed by our fellow VN poster OrangeBleedin89 who posted that there is no kicking controversy. His inside sources said that NS would be the kicker unless Lincoln’s leg turned into Sebastian Janikowski’s. That obviously has not happened.

I am stilled bothered that CLK ran off last year’s back-up kicker CJ Boleman. CJ was the best thing that ever happened to UT and would have won us at least 2 more games (AU and Bamma). If you don’t believe it just ask him, his hometown paper, and/or fellow VN posters from his hometown in Nattachooga.

You might be asking, why CLK would continue using DL if NS is better. There are a number of reasons:

CLK is stubborn. He is a young coach who cannot accept that his evaluation of DL is wrong. I think he tried to recruit DL while he was at USC. He is going to continue using him to the detriment of the team.

CLK is insecure. He knows that he is not doing a good job but continuing to let DL be the bad guy takes the heat off of him. I feel bad that DL is being used this way. His family and friends should be very angry. I heard that his Mom has challenged a local female radio personality to a Jello wresting match after some of the derogatory comments she made. I don’t blame her and have volunteered to take her place in the match. I hope that it is best 2 out of 3.

CLK has an agenda. He will not play NS because he knows that NS would scare away top kicking prospects/recruits. Despite his inability to kick the ball over 5 feet in the air or to hit the Tennessee River from its bank, NS has a cannon for a leg. Top kicking prospects would be afraid to compete against that.

Now, it is time us fans start expressing our dissatisfaction and demand that CLK make a change. I have already sold my USCjr tickets and intend on spending my Saturday evening changing children’s diapers. I then plan on posting Monday, regardless of the outcome of the game, about how much I enjoyed it. I don’t know any small children but fortunately Saturday is Halloween. I suspect they will be coming to my door.

At some point during the week you can also expect me to start an attention whoring thread titled, “If Lincoln is the starting kicker against USCjr then I refuse to watch the game”. I have every intention of watching the game, I just want the attention.

I know that “True” Vol fans feel the same and I hope that you will join me in my protest by not attending next week’s game.

Yeah...crucify Kiffin for doing TONS more this year with the same players that Fulmer could only win 5 games with. At least we are not getting BLOWN OUT every damn weekend by UF, Bama, UGA, etc. Did you honestly expect Kiffin to come in and win every game this year, with the level of talent that previous staff left him with? If anything, this staff should be APPLAUDED for being able to hang with and have a chance to beat a team like Bama that has TWICE the talent we have, easily. And exactly how did the losses to UCLA, UF and Auburn have ANYTHING to do with Kiffin trying to use Lincoln as a "scapegoat"? Thats total, moronic BS. It isnt Kiffins fault that our kicker is terrible. He didnt recruit the head case. Next year we have the #1 kicker in the country coming in. If he sucks, then blame Kiffin. Some "fans" never cease to amaze me.
