Greetings, Nehi. The black jerseys were a cute, motivational (voted on by the players) twist on HALLOWEEN night. It was a "one night stand", for God's sake, not a call to arms. If you think the Tennessee Vols have the 2nd ugliest uniforms in college football, well, that's your opinion. Nothing more; nothing less. The overwhelmingly vast majority of us Vol fans beg to differ. To change the beloved Vol traditional "Orange and White" would be a total sacrilege. Ain't gonna' happen, my friend. BTW, how long you been a vol fan? Just curious.

A new uniform design will go a long way to helping put a stamp on this new era of UT football. Hopefully nothing too dramatic but we must return the 2 stripes to the sleeve that we wore throughout the 70's and 80's.

Hey RN. The only... "painfully obvious"... thing about your thread is that your brain must be stuck in PARK. What's this "new era" BS??? Tennesse football and it's wonderful tradition got put on the map by one General Robert R. Neyland and his MAXIMS are as true today as they were then. The team colors have remained the same for a reason. If you don't respect that, I suggest you find another team to support.

The black is just plain horrible. It is perfect for Vandy and see what happens to Georgia every time they break out black.

I have an idea. Why don't all of you black jersey fans boycott UT sports until we change to black uniforms for good.

We will let you know when we miss you.

Hi, first post here.

If you think we need new uniforms you really should consider a new team. If UT did anything other than add a white stripe somewhere on the tops I would listen to the games on the radio and pretend they were still in the traditional orange and white.

I think the black jerseys would have looked better with black pants.

A black shirt with white helmet and orange pants just looked horrible.

Just my opinion. But I like the classic look that UT brings.

So as an "unbiased observer" do you just register on a bunch of message boards and post your "unbiased" opinion on matters as trivial as a couple "idiots" wanting the VOLS to change their uniforms? LoL....

Hey guys, I'm a Clemson fan and have always considered UT as my second favorite team due to some great friendships I made with Vol fans while in the Marines.
I mean no disrespect on your board but feel I can offer a constructive opinion. That orange and white and big block T means something. When people that aren't part of the "Vol Family" see it, we know who you are and what it means. A great program that needs no gimmicks to speak for itself. You don't need fad uniforms like everyone else. Stick with who you are. School colors. Many don't like Clemson colors (orange, white, purple) but they are the original school colors. No gimmicks needed. You are who you are. You are UT. No introduction needed.

I say leave the uniform color and scheme alone but make "Volunteers" in cursive writing as the names for all uniforms. I think this would be cool for either a rivalry game or homecoming.

And I think that this could be a big seller for the University

I'd buy one
