Hopefully, Kiffin oes the blackout at least one game per year. The players really get into it!

I really had hopes that the black jerseys would eliminate the need for any more fashion threads - ever - on VolNation. Oh well.

Would it be possible to sticky them to the BOTTOM of the LAST PAGE of the forums though? Just wondering.

The black uniforms were a step last season but it has become painfully obvious that we need to get new uniforms.

A new uniform design will go a long way to helping put a stamp on this new era of UT football. Hopefully nothing too dramatic but we must return the 2 stripes to the sleeve that we wore throughout the 70's and 80's.

Adidas needs to do their job or we will end up switching to Nike or Under Armour.

I'm gonna step out on a limb here and put the RN to mean nurse add that with your being upset with our fashion sense and say we may be witnessing the first case of the ghey in 2010.

Agreed. I'm sick of looking physically inferior to opposing teams. Our boys looked tiny compared to VT's players.

I didn't see a big size discrepancy myself. To me it looked like they were faster (more than anything else). Our guys looked slow. That's funny, UT looked slow.

So you're saying that no one paid attention that UT wore black? The fans did. A poll showed 70 plus percent liked the black. And recruits who were at the S. Carolina game reportedly did. Tradition has already been broken with the black jerseys. UT has the ugliest unis in college football. Next to Oregon. But having said that ... who gives a ****. I just wanna beat Kansas.

Well the good part is... unless it happens to be Halloween, the chance of you seeing the black jerseys is about the same as Vandy getting a BCS bowl. (per Kiffin, "It's a one-time thing")

Coming on here and suggesting that the uniforms make a difference is ridiculous. I would tend to think that coaching good blocking and tackling would contribute better results. The problem here is that we have more fashion coordinators in our fan base and not enough educated football fans.

Uniforms don't make you a better team.

Thats incorrect because if youve got some awesome uniforms your crowd will get more wild and be screaming louder like when we wore black the crowd went nuts and it was all good from that point on

I don't want UT's uniforms to change. It shows tradition, back to a time when UT was an absolute power house. Us and bama have had the same jerseys for a long time, it shows our pride in our prestigious organizations

Why are the UT f"$$ out in such numbers?? Uniforms don't win games. Players and coaches do.

I agree with a little extra stripes or something. What happened to the orange on the shoulders they had around the 2005 area. It was a alternate uni. I also agree with the black once a year.

calling it last season just sounds weird....it ended yesterday. maybe something like "this past season"....plus i follow recruiting pretty heavily, so I typically see NSD as the final whistle.

oh...and about the uniforms...not exactly sure how that would really help us define this 'new era'....not saying it will hurt us, but there have been like a thousand new uniform threads.

so the crowds intensity determines the talent and play-calling on the field....i'll have to keep that in mind for next season.

I know that unis dont help teams play better but I do think that we need to try some new things with our unis. Nothing too crazy maybe a little more black on our jerseys im not saying have black jerseys. Just maybe on our orange jerseys have some white stripes down the side with some black trim and with our white ones orange stripes with black trim. Is that too much to ask for.

maybe the guy who started this thread is on to something. look at the perennial powers like usc-w, penn state, texas, oklahoma, alabama, lsu, michigan, ohio state. their uniforms are all so 1950s. but then look at the nifty rags worn by cincinatti, boise state, south florida and so on. considering the vols bowl performance, we might want to rethink whether they deserve to be in the passe unis. as darryl royal said when a uniform company tried to sell him a new design, "i don't want candy stripes. these are work clothes."

p.s.: leave the damned uniforms just as they are--get some better athletes to fill them!
