up 12 with 10 minutes to go in a defensive game...coaches are often just strategic idiots in general, but to not go f 2 in that situation is simply beyond words...

almost dumb enough to be a "fire him at the airport" decision...think about this and consider how much football you guys have watched in your life...at THAT point butch is saying, " ya know..a td and 2 fg's from a team w 2 scores is more likely than 2 td's at the 10' mark"...does that not seem utterly and completely absurd logic? And he has a 16 play or whatever it is drive to consider what the choice will be...unbelievable

Butch cannot manage a game at all, this was ours for the taking. How does Butch seem to seemingly get us this close to a win and drop the ball again in the 4th. They couldn't have lost more players to injury to allow us an easier win...

Agree that was as stupid a call as kicking a FG against OU inside the 1 with our running game. 2 dumb calls = 2 loses

I HAVE HAD ALL the heartbreak I can endure. Butch is a nice guy and also is the worst game coach I can remember. That was my opinion before the Gator game today. So- I quit. I will no longer attend games or watch on TV - it is masochistic to cheer for this team. Butch can recruit . He just cant get his record above 500, which in some ways make him worse than Dooley. ( this is the ultimate insult) No judge sentenced me to follow this team, so I quit in the interest of my heart and mental health. Its not worth the emotional drain . Good luck to you loyal Vol fans. I will pray for you.

The call that really killed me was the timeout to ice the kicker IN THE THIRD QUARTER??? :blink:

You do that when the dam game is on the line! Of course then they decide not to kick field goal and .......! :banghead2:

bobby bowden lost miami game same exact way early 2000's...at least there were like 13-14' left there...these guys are gym coaches w some specialized knowledge, intelligence wise..were they not in coaching, not like they'd probably be rocket scientists..so you get used to bad strategy..but you could watch a LOT of football without seeing something that dumb.

I have seen so many incomprehensible play calls this season I'm not surprised. Debrod and Butch are even more conservative on O then I thought they'd be. And I was already very worried about Debord.
