It’s Time We All Accept It....

All it takes is the right coach.

Yes.....yes I does. The right coach, at the right time at UT. Hasn't happened is 12-15 years so what makes one think it'll happen the next go-round?

Not happening. Not sustainable under the current model. So why do we continue with that model? Why do we continue to roll with the same process everyone else does.....and fail? There are about 3-5 programs in NCAAF that aren't "failing"..........so why is it everyone else tries the same thing to only fail again? I mean history has proven it, so why do it?

I think it’s time we accept it. I think it will make it easier for all of us if we just accept that UT is not a good football program and probably never will be again. Yes we were pretty dominant in the 90’s and UT is a storied program with a winning past but the fact is those days are over. Times have changed. You can’t go through this many years of turmoil and chaos and survive. From top to bottom this program is bad.

Nope. Years of mediocrity have no bearing the level of difficulty bringing a program back.

UT could suck for 50 years, hire Urban Meyer and be in the playoff in year 3.

Agree. Over the past 3-4 years I have found myself watching less games. This year I have watched part of the 3rd quarter of the South Carolina game. I have listened to them while hunting. But I am not wasting my Saturday's sitting at home or in Neyland for a crappy product.

The truth...a bad, uninspired, poorly coached football team is hard to watch. Throw in players quitting on there teammates and coach, regardless of the reason or reasons, and the on field product is unwatchable. Hope that changes because it is becoming the norm for the UT program.

They did because there were a lot of players in that group that were winners with character. It wasn't a team with any real superstars, but a bunch of guys anyone would want on their roster.
They had Al Wilson

We are in shambles. Administration and the professors make plenty of money. Why hire an elite coach? Get what you pay for. I live in Dothan AL. Troy QBs put ours to shame! What a pathetic program we have. Oh, Phil needs to go too. Nothing but excuses on here.

You can tell if we are going to win by the half. If we are up by less than 30 points then we are going to lose.

Like Yogi Berra said, the future just ain’t what it used to be

Disagree. We consistently pull in higher rated recruits than Kentucky even though we have shat the bed the past 15 years. I think we have to perform soon, but we still have a window to get us on the right track. All it takes is the right coach.

No, the right coach is only part, getting the type of players that Alabama, Florida, Georgia and other top programs recruit is a must

Doesn’t matter how incredible of a car is purchased if the owner doesn’t know how to drive.

I actually accepted it about 10 or 12 years ago. It's made Fall weekends a whole lot more tolerable for me since then .....

It's not a matter of "we can't ever compete again on that level..." as much as it's "we won't do the things necessary to get there...", which might just be the same thing in different words. Replace Fulmer with a forward thinking AD who has the gravitas to bring in a legit coach, and we'll compete again in short order. Keep Fulmer and continue to hire Fulmer clones and we will always be just what we are - mediocre.

When Pruitt talked about the Bi week and how they went back to basics, held a spring type practice working on tackling, agility and fundamentals, I nearly choked. We are in the middle of the season and they decide they need a spring practice.

I really feel that Bailey is our future. The kid has a very nice touch, quick release and is accurate. He can't help it if his first past bounced off the reciever and was intercepted. The second one with 8 sec left was a hail mary to the end zone, means nothing.
Why they call 3 runs before punting every series he got is beyond me. Would it be too much to ask Chaney to mix it up a little bit, maybe a pass on first down?

Throw the damn ball down field, make something happen, force some errors from the opponents defense. BORING BORING BORING!

I hate predictability more than boring football. There are teams that are boring, but they execute to a T and win plenty. So many times this season I’ve known what UT was going to do as soon as they broke the huddle. Totally predictable. It’s killing us offensively.

Central Florida is a perennial top-twenty team. Coastal Carolina (!) is currently ranked 15th.

Does either of those have a fourth of the athletic budget we have?

I’m sitting here watching Coastal-Appy State thinking, either team would take us. Honestly, never thought I would ever say Coastal Carolina would take us out
