It’s Time We All Accept It....

Before the 90’s I was just happy if we had an occasional upset, were ranked or made it to a bowl game.

The right coach can get us to where Stoops has KY. That's the new ceiling for TN in the SEC.
Maybe we find that person one day but we are stuck with Pruitt for the foreseeable future. It will be 2+ years before they even think about moving on from Pruitt

You are most likely correct, but at least we have our other hiring failures paid off. (Or at least we will in time to fire Pruitt this season.)

I’ve started to believe this. I’m not sure the University is committed to doing what it takes to win. I truly believe it’s a dead program and that the 90’s were just an anomaly.

I think it’s time we accept it. I think it will make it easier for all of us if we just accept that UT is not a good football program and probably never will be again. Yes we were pretty dominant in the 90’s and UT is a storied program with a winning past but the fact is those days are over. Times have changed. You can’t go through this many years of turmoil and chaos and survive. From top to bottom this program is bad.
Been here a long time. Fire UT football

Exactly what are you suggesting that fans of Tennessee's football team do? You can do whatever you want, but it's silly to try and tell other people how to think. I'm still going to watch their games and hope they win. I'm pretty sure that we will have a good team again... never is a long time.

What you do is up to you. I’m not saying to stop watching or pick a new team. I’m simply saying that the people that think Tennessee should be a championship contender year in and year out are fooling themselves. We are somewhere between Kentucky and South Carolina. Perennial mediocrity. Maybe an occasional 8 or 9 win season. The 90’s was an anomaly.

See what bad coaching hires and bad athletic director decisions get you? This rubbish. Tennessee is a damn top 10 team all time. It’s damn time we acted like it.

Tennessee is a better program than those two... and Tenn should be about a 9 win team in most seasons (including the bowl game). They have the resources to compete. It's just proven to be very difficult to find the right coach.
