I'm going to disagree. Bob is a VFL who loves the program. I hear comments on this board about his lack of excitement, not calling ball position on field, not calling down and distance, clock time. I've listened to recent live game broadcasts while traveling with these comments in mind and I just disagree. His archive of calls also have exciting calls. He's not one to scream at the mic; and I don't like that screaming style anyway. I think this is more about personal taste than mechanics of the calls.
Whatever the future holds, I'd prefer not "SAAAAAAACK".

Not familiar with those guys, but im all too familiar with Mike Keith and I just dont care for his screaming at all. I dont like Kesling, but I believe I would keep him over Keith.I wish Kentucky's play by play announcer Mike Leach or Louisville play by play announcer Paul Rogers called the Tennessee football games
I have a feeling that Bob may retire from calling football games after Tennessee's trip to possibly the Orange Bowl and just call Tennessee Men's Basketball games. Not familiar with those guys, but im all too familiar with Mike Keith and I just dont care for his screaming at all. Agreed with you right up till the shade thrown at Mike Keith. You do realize that had the Oilers not moved Mike would be the voice of the Vols. But you are right it's personal taste but I love Mike Keith.
Honestly I don't know. Siri tells me throwing shade is a "subtle, sneering expression of contempt for or disgust with someone"I don’t think criticism and “throwing shade” are the same thing.
Agreed . . . Kesling isn't an iconic voice, but he's loyal and he's a pro. I actually sometimes felt the same way about Ward. He was a better play by play guy, but he used to drive me crazy being behind the action and just being awkward at times. Bob is actually better on the Sunday morning show than Ward was. The Fulmer/Majors show had a cringe element that just wouldn't stop lol.Um…. I think it’s up to Bob when he decides to leave. You just don’t cancel somebody because “it’s time to bring in some new blood and energy”. Bob is not Larry Munson. Bob is a professional announcer that displays class and does it his way. It’s fine if you’re not a fan of him but you don’t start calling for his job for not enjoying his broadcasts. Your boss may not like they you do your job but you’ve probably got bills and a family to feed. I’ll tell ya, people these days.
