New VOL fan attitude - " I don't care if we go 1-11, as long as that win is Vandy"
I guess everything really does come back around. As far as the Vandy and UK rivalries, we were due for a reminder nothing is automatic. We had lost the hate factor and these two teams have not. Now I have it back in spades and have since Dooley. I was as guilty as anyone of taking them for granted until Dooley came to town. I also had the misfortune of having a Vandy father-in-law.

I just refuse to accept that Vandy is our best rival. Unlike others If we are winless going into that game then I will not be watching. And if I had to pick our only win of the year it would be Gators. I would get lot more enjoyment beating them than I would Vandy.
If we accept Vandy as our biggest Rival then we are done as a program.....which many already think that we are.

Yeah. Ok. Only if a Twitter feed serves as a reliable source.

I mean Geez! I watched all of the interviews today from practices 1 and 2 and the big doofus looking guy's question to Matthew Butler is how has the wide open, fast tempo spread offense helping the Tennessee defense's conditioning. I'm paraphrasing I know....

the freakin answer is: "We're in shorts Doofus! We're doing Spring drills! We won't see game speed for a couple of weeks if then. Ask a relevant question!"

Then errrbody wanted to get a take on the last few months since the old staff left. Geez O Pete! If what we know about the Vol football program is what we hear in these press conferences, then we don't know much. And it's 1000% better access since the old staff left. I figured there would be some well thought out questions since then. David Ubben is mostly the exception. He only rarely pisses me off enough to stream to something else. Doofus Dude with the glasses and short cropped curly hair? I'm just gonna change the channel.....

That’s the bitter truth now that Kentucky , Vandy and South Carolina are our biggest rivals. We are no longer competitive against the big three and they don’t consider us a rival. Consider this that since 2005 we have beaten Florida , Georgia and Alabama a combined seven times. 1-15 against Bama. 1-15 against Florida and 5-11 against Georgia and alot of those losses have been blowouts.

Oh good night....surely you don't believe everything you read. I think some people just like to keep stirring the pot by posting every stupid article written. Give it a rest already.

It's not an article. It's a tweet.

And, say what you will, but for two teams to play each other annually and for the record to be 5-5 and the cumulative scores to be identical is pretty remarkable.

I don't think it means to suggest that for fans of the school it's the biggest rival.

I think it is suggesting that the on-field results would conclude that it's the most competitive rivalry in college football over the last decade.

I don't know if that's true or not, but it would be hard to find one where the win-loss record is even and the total points scored is even.

What’s up with all this pain? Like yeah the last 10 years have been competitive but get out. We have dominated this Candy squad for decades. Tn has been at the lowest it can be in years. This won’t last forever. It has been always about coaching , and truthfully we haven’t been good or that good with the last three coaches. Could you imagine if Dabo, or Saban, or R. Day or L. Riley could have done here with the talent we have recruited . Hell, I’d lay money down if Saban, or Day had out Butch J squad we would have have won a natty. Candy will always be our B , but got to have the right coaches. The win loss Ratio just isn’t there to be competitive.

yea I agree. But, to me it is just sad and difficult to take to be mentioned as a rival of Vandy. Of course I will admit I know we are a rival, being in the same state and all. But being compared as a similar program last 10 years, even if being correct, it is embarrassing.
oh, the good ole days when we knew before we took the field that we were going to kick their a$$...lol

Sounds like the 70's and 80's all over again. Thankfully, we didn't play Georgia and Florida every year in those days!

Maybe we should send Botch over to give them a stern talking-to.
